A beautiful spring day: 38 degrees and raining.
Looks like an indoor day. I'm drinking a Weasel and enjoying the remain of last night's dinner, Aloo Goghi Matar.
    Happy Saturday to all!

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Planning on puttig in some work time today and tomorrow to catch up on lost time from the holiday weekend last week. I have enough different projects to work on to put in unlimited hours, but I'm not that ambitious lol. Also need to update my music library again. Found a bunch of new Black Metal bands last week, I need to get those bands.

Fantastic pale ale, last of the 6 pack. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate malt sweetness of caramel, brown sugar, and toasted biscuit; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/rind bitterness on the finish. Very smooth medium body; balanced hop stickiness and bready Munich malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, with no hop astringency. Absolutely love the balance and the juiciness of the Cascade/Centennial hops in combination with the bready malt bill. Might grab more of this soon. One of my favorite pale ales of all time for sure. I should grab a pack of Mirror Pond next time I see a fresh pack, been way too long.

Amazing as usual, last can for now. Flavors of big toasted coconut, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, toffee, dark bread, and light coffee. Light balancing roast bitterness against sweetness. Awesome creamy/silky medium body; light touch of sticky/chalky roast character and dryness. I love this stuff. If I could have bought a case, I would have. At least I have Blackrocks Coconut Brown to get my coconut fix in until the next release. It's pretty similar in a lot of ways flavor-wise.

Outstanding stuff! Flavors of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of vanilla, raisin, cherry, smoke, char, and herbal hops. Very complex and vibrant fruity/nutty coffee character. Light-moderate herbal hop and roast/char bitterness; great bittersweet balanced roasted finish. Medium-full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel; light hop stickiness and chalky roast/coffee notes as well. Lightly increasing roasted dryness, never acrid or astringent. Super smooth, minimal warming 8% ABV. Amazingly rich, complex, and well balanced. I am definitely buying another 6 pack, almost finished the first one!

2.5 year old MOAS. I reviewed a 2013 2 years ago, so this is 1 year older than I had it at that time. This was fantastic! Aromas and flavors of huge caramel, toffee, brown sugar, molasses, brown bread, raisin, plum, prune, fig, date, cherry, sherry, apple, bourbon, and toasted oak; with lighter notes of leather, tobacco, chocolate, vanilla, and coconut. Light herbal bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness against sweetness on the finish. Full bodied creamy/slick and lightly syrupy mouthfeel; touch of oak tannins and dryness. Insanely smooth sipper and mildly warming 13.5%. This is definitely a lot smoother/less boozy than I remember from the last time I had it. Still not blowing me away as I hoped vs the ratings, but it's an outstanding English Barleywine all around. My reviews reflect that I was more impressed with the base beer actually. I hope to revisit that some time. I have some really great beer friends, because I didn't even expect to be able to revisit this at all; but one of them just randomly offered it to me a few weeks ago. I always love revisiting old reviews.

Okay, state taxes done, and I owe a couple weeks beer purchases. I did check to see if I could claim this guy as a dependent:

Turns out that legally, my relationship with this is a different kind of dependency.

Not upset about any of that, though, because the Caps did eke out a victory last night.

    Enjoy you weekend, BAs!!

Good morning BAs! Well it's nine AM on a Saturday and the usual crowd shuffles in. Yet, I know it's after nine and I type slowly - it's a generation thing. Today's New Breakfast Beer is kind of disappointing:

Chocolate yes. However, no bourbon and no barrel seen. Oh well, they can't all be winners. But to bolster Abita's self esteem, they get a trophy for participating.

Congrats on 5000! I'm right behind you. Well not literally behind you (or am I?), I mean I'm 6 away now which means I'm gonna have to keep my talking to a minimum today if I want 5000 to have a beer with. Cheers!
