Win goes to Heavy Mettle unanimously. Smoother and juicier overall. Mettle seems to have some noise in the flavor

I was really worried because it is a 2015 and I thought it might have turned, but I lucked out! Delicious.

    Having a Sixpoint Bengali.

Some Sixpoint brews are not very hard to get at the moment here in the Netherlands. Too bad the only shops I know that have them are not around the corner from where I live. For who is interested; I found this one yesterday in a (or probably 'the') beer shop in the city of Breda.
    Cheers all!

Keep quiet? Me? Naaaaah...I won't give you all the pleasure :stuck_out_tongue:. Besides, I'm having too much fun, and still have a job to do. That's right, it's time for the Glass of the Day Awards!

    GotD:
Ummmm....I don't even know what to say. Cheers and congrats to @foundersasap for making my job easy, and taking this thing to the next level with this "xenomorph" glass (as El Brujo called it  ).
2nd: I'm loving these stange / IPA hybrid glasses that we're seeing so much of lately, and this proper Jack's Abbey post from @FJ88 takes the cake.
3rd: And coming out of the gate strong, @SudsDoctor 's Warsteiner stemmed flute stayed in the game, earning him his first mention since WBAYDN 1379 :grimacing:...! (Yes, the archives are real :sunglasses: .)

And today, The Staff has decided to pay tribute as the honorable mention to The Holy Grail. Thanks @SawDog505 for bringing us there (almost daily). Your iconic posts from that bar stool will missed.
Cheers everyone, and I will see you all soon!

    GotD.

Trees are a buddin'. Birds are a chirpin'.

I decided to take a pass on Record Store Day. Lines just aren't my thing. In place of that I decided to whip up a batch of Szechuan chili oil.

Well, I haven't worked out in months; between my work schedule, my move, and some mysterious physical ailments I've been dealing with (and afraid of), I just haven't been doing anything physical outside of work. I literally haven't run since the Fall.

During that time, I've gained over 10 lbs, which I both see and feel the effect of. So today, Georgia weather aside, I worked out. Every phase hurt. Wow, I'm out of shape! But it was a start ... and for the first time in months, I feel I earned this beer:

    Funky Buddha Last Snow

I was going to drink it anyway :flushed:, but at least now I burned some calories first. :sunglasses:

To recap yesterday, since I got home late: I finally had enough with the terrible craft scene here, and took the trip an hour South into Jax. So, so glad I did. In addition to some bottle shopping, I enjoyed these brews:

Flight at Dahlia's Pour House, left to right: CCB Marshal Zhukov's Penultimate Push, Weyerbacher Cinnsanity, Aardwolf Nonchalant IPA, and Coastal Empire Coco PiƱa Gose.

Hello all. First post for a while. Just got back from Mexico vaca last week where the tipples of choice were tequila (loving those Palomas) and rum...not so much the macro lagers on offer at my resort

Tucking into my first KBS 2017 of the year. Good stuff

    Have a hoppy saturday BAs!

Szechuan peppercorns are a little tough. They can be old even when they are found at the Asian markets. Give Penzey's a look. If you don't have one nearby they have free shipping on $25+ orders. They have great spices, very fresh.

    Brunch brew . . .

    Score 3.59
    look: 3.5 | aroma 3.25 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.75

Light, clear gold color with white cap.

Clean scent of light malt with a touch of floral hops.

Taste is mildly medium rounded and rather nice. Malt/grain on entry with hops sliding into third but it's the honey touch that lingers in the aftertaste that is the lasting memory.

Light to medium texture with balancing carbonation.

This isn't a wow beer but it's certainly presentable in polite company. It's generally perceived by consumers to be above average yet isn't challenging to the point of being an acquired taste. A soccer mom beer.

F*ck it. I'm going to be riding a bike everywhere I go today anyways. Might see if I can go scrounge up some ramps and morels or whatever other fungus I see.

We're expecting company, so it was housecleaning morning (must have the place in shape for my mother). Sharing Uinta 24th birthday with my lovely tolerant wife.

Now I'm drinking Geary's Summer Ale. I like it a lot, but it doesn't get much love around these parts.
