"Continuous count of days makes it easier to tell the number of days between bottlings and/or last purchase. Re-adopeted for inventory control because back in the day it was easier for computers to track inventory with minimal code. Too expensive and too much built in inertia now for some to make a change over. Once upon a time computing time was more expensive than human time."

    • "Only needs 3 digits vs 4 digits
    • Internationally recognized with no confusion between Euro and US dating - Day/Month vs Month/Day
    • Used in numerous large industries, business calendars are routinely marked with the day of the year
    • As noted above, simple to "do the math"
    • Mechanically "easier" - machines and people both find it easier to go from 031 to 032 on Feb. 1st, rather than 0131 to 0201."

It sucks. Yes, I am the guy at the Liquor store you see looking up the Julian calendar on my phone and then inspecting the Lagunitas Sucks bottle

Regular dating is way easier. I use an app for Julian dates. But Julian is better than no dating at all or BBD imo..

Grabbed myself an 8 oz pour of Wiley Roots 1320 at First Draft the other day. Really impressive NE style IPA. Not surprising that it's Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic, 3 of my favorite hops. Not sure how big of a batch this was, or how widely available it may be, but my palate says it's in the mix with some of the best examples of hazy IPAs that I've tried here in Colorado. Nicely done Kyle!

They certainly bottle beers, they have released some excellent imperial stouts and sour beers in bottles. I don't think they bottle the "regular" beers much though.

I've seen Juicy Banger crowlers at a couple different places. Grapevine and the Stapleton Mr. B's for sure, but I think I might have seen some down here in the DTC, too. Never bought one since I end up at S26 pretty often to begin with.

New batch of Outer Range Corduroy might be my favorite yet. Just went on yesterday. Brought home a growler last night to savor the flavor :stuck_out_tongue:. I don't know much about Waimea hops, but the combination with Citra in this beer is so on point. Tropical aromas of passion fruit, guava and tangerine for days.

Yes. They had juicy bits as well. They had a 1 limit Crowler on the Banger but not the Bits

As others on here have pointed out Melvin and Bout Damn Time are the 2 goto west coast IPAs. I also like whatever s26 single hop IPA is available. I'd like to see a few more local brewers distributing good West Coast IPAs. Oscar Blues IPA is OK, but there are not many other local options.
