When you get to the front of the bottle pick-up line, you'll roll a 12-sided die. 7 sides dictate what variant you get, 1 dictates vintages. The remaining 4 are Trivia, Artistry, Chance, and Puzzles. Each of the remaining 4 have different outcomes depending on how they are completed. For example: Chance you may draw a card that let's you take the Variant of anyone in the Festival Grounds.

Unless your attorney BIL wears a neck brace or Half Acre knit cap, I'm not sure we can trust him on the finer points of beer law...

So... I have a group of 4 people in the same group. I now have to split up my group of friends to go stand in different 'sub' lines for minimum of 45 minutes. We then have to make our way back to the line to get into the brewery and collect our 'random' bottle and 4 regular bottles.

So, as I read it, I can't rush to the front of the line and expect hanjee, I pick a line, stand in it, and take that ticket inside where I find my fate.

If you don't get a ticket, you're fucked? That "you should have been in a different line with fewer people" part is confusing.

This really sounds like an epic fucking disaster waiting to happen. It also won't work for group a as others have stated... SMH.

DLD is the most glorious shitshow. Glory is quickly going out the window... :slight_frown:

As someone that doesn't care about variants, I'm hoping for complete chaos myself.

If you're mostly coherent the whole day, you should be able to try it.

Holy shit the success of that troll is mind boggling.

That being said, it was a hilarious dystopian construction, loved it.

So I've pretty much dropped the ball and was going to take the beer temple shuttle. I don't see it on the site so I assume it's sold out. Are there any more shuttle coming from North side of Chicago?

This makes no sense at all. Why not just do random tote bags. Way easier

The trolling and the resulting panic did bring up a good point which has somewhat been mentioned before. A lot of people, including myself, have tickets for multiple groups or friends in other groups. What I mean by "have tickets for multiple groups" is that my wife and I both purchased tickets. My wife got A and I got E. I sold the group E to my friend. In order for us all to get in we'd have to be together as my name is on one set (my buddy goes in with me) and my wife's name is on the other set (my buddy's wife goes in with my wife). Once inside my wife and I keep the A tix and my buddy keeps the E tix.
    Got it? Good.
Now, If there was a designated A line to enter the fest as there was supposed to be in previous years that would cause an issue for a lot of people in my similar situation. That being said, if they do that this year I'm not sure what exactly we'd do. If they set up lines for different groups as a means to sort out the current issue a lot of people will end up separated from friends for who knows how long. This may end up being quite interesting to say the least.

Sucks. Dragon Abortion used his promoter, but apparently they never paid so the band refused to play DLD.

It is an Islay scotch. That is why I rank it dead last. I like Islay scotch, but Dark Lord aged in an Islay scotch barrel? No thanks.

All this information about variants, pickup times, lines, FCFS, and the ambiguity in it all is like FFF's sick version of Abbott and Costello's famous routine.
