He wound up not doing so as the fence was over 18 years old...

Next DLD posting this week should include the festival map and an explanation of "Dark Lord Allotment pick up procedures" (per @EamonTheGreat, not @zach60614). It'll be interesting, to say the least, how they plan on doing this.

I'm okay with this if they also go back to the ticket costing about $60

I feel that last year was the best set-up. Getting the tickets you got was the randomness in the equation that made it fair for everyone. I never had group A and still feel this way. The all inclusive package sped everything up a lot.
I for one liked the voucher system. I used up all of my vouchers on food and the guest taps. It was nice not having to carry as much cash on me. I only needed enough for some glassware and DLD gear.

Right. I don't mind the all inclusive thing.

If we're going back to golden tickets though, we're goin back to $60. $180 for random prizes sucks

The price would go back down. It only increased as much as it did because it included the four bottles of DL and a DL variant (or 2 vintages like this year). I like being guaranteed a variant (or 2 vintage DL) and not have to hope I win one.

Dark Matter should announce what merch they will sell the week before.

FFF usually does not announce what merch they will have.

High on Fire is more important to rock and roll than the Beatles.

But not as much as Dragon Abortion.

Exactly. Leave the wine barrels to the sours and saisons ffs. Even the Madeira didn't work that great for me, that's better used for a barleywine like Cigar City did.

At least use neutral oak if you're trying to stray from bourbon, rum or brandy.

    They've done rum before, right

Maybe just a thought. What if they did golden ticket, but instead of a yes or no, they had what variant/2 vintages you got since you are guaranteed something anyway? I'm ready for the group E shitshow, but I plan on making most of my dld experience.

After reading all the theories so far I wonder if people with A/B tickets are really willing to risk getting in a later groups line only to learn they have to pick from the leftovers from their respective group.

No I'm not. I just want to get in when we are supposed to as group A. There should be a separate line for group A to enter the fest.

To expand a bit....At the end of the day, there is going to be one set of pissed off people. Its going to be either:
    • A/B group people who got into C/D/E groups lines and didn't get to pick from the C/D/E allocation
    • C/D/E group people who had A/B groups get in their lines early and take their handjees and FVM
Vegas is taking bets. The former getting screwed is a rough -180.
