Darklord Day 2017

I'd prefer not having to re-apply sun block throughout the day. Bring on the rain and cold and the gentle warmth of the Dark Lord will be like a blanket for my mind.

 

You don't wear full black robes to DLD?

 

My traditional pre-DLD breakfast consists of a Sausage Egg McMuffin, hash brown, and water. Once I arrive at DLD and get in line I start munching on a pub mix or pretzels as I'm sipping a tasty craft beer. The pub mix/pretzels really seem to help add to the foundation. Once in the gates I'll grab an order of the tacos for an additional late breakfast. This method has never failed me at DLD and I've never got drunk...at least not "Garbage Can Guy drunk." Later in the afternoon when the buzz is going strong and I get the munchies I'll hit up Donerman and/or grab a DL burger.

 

You can still get very sunburnt on an overcast day, does anyone remember 2014?

 

I do but my hood was up the whole day because it was cold as fuck!

 

9 days until dld and over 5400 posts here. Assuming average attendance around 10,000? Is it possible that with these 9 days plus the aftermath post that we could reach a 1:1 posts:attendee ratio??

 

I don't care what the weather is like....I'm wearing my yellow rain suit every year moving forward....it would feel strange to not do so.

 

Being Group C, I should be pretty toasted, so I wrote to drunk me some notes with ranking of variants.

First time poster and BA member. Been following this thread forever now. I have read every single post as well. This will be my first DLD and beer fest as well. Hope I can bring some shares that won't put me on a beer snob blacklist. Suggestions on beers for a first time DLD attendee to bring for shares? I know it's been touched on before, I just don't want to screw it up. Thanks everyone.

 

Bring whatever you want. People will share with you. Obviously the heavy hitters/.rar whalez will draw more attention and possibly bring better beers your direction, but they're not necessary.

What do u guys use to clear your palates besides water? Went to the Bells 30th Festival a few years back and the first beer I tried was RR Supplication. It was really good but I could not get that taste out if my mouth. I think I read somewhere that chocolate works good. Let's hear your secret........

 

Besides water I'll snack on pub mix or pretzels and mix in a nice sour and/or IPA between stouts. It's really individual what works so try some different things.

 

Yeah, the first year that I won on the golden ticket I was group B and got all excited. I seen the BBADL and immediately grabbed it, not realizing there were still some VBBADL sitting there until after I walked out.

 

It never ceases to amaze me just how good even the most basic pale ale tastes after having a sea of BA stouts and sours.
