Don't panic too much. No matter what you bring, someone else will have something that's more .rar whlez bro. Just bring interesting beer. I had mostly shelfies last year and did fine.

A couple more specific suggestions that should ward off all but the most obnoxious beer snobs...

    1) Bring brewery only or limited releases if possible.

    2) Stuff that isn't available in Illinois is a plus. There are a lot of us FIB's there and some of us are jerks.

    3) If you get desperate, grab the most interesting thing you can find at the taps and offer it around.

Actually the easiest thing is probably just to ignore the guy giving you crap and move on.

Am I the only one who wants a nice freaking day? Man, I'd love some shorts weather. Little bit of sun. Oh yeah....

As a first time poster here, and first time attendee, we need to know where you stand on the variant selection process and long line issue?

How readily available is Hoppin' Frog stuff out there?

Honestly, just being whatever the hell you would like to drink. Literally the only beers that people would give the stink eye for bringing would be Three Floyds 12oz bottles. And even then, you'd probably just get a polite "nah, I'm good, you wanna try this beer that I'm holding?"

There's people from all over the country (and world) so you'll have no issue.

Fresh, local hoppy beers always go over well. Especially if you can only get them in your market. I'll always take a pour of a pale I've never heard of, even if it's as ubiquitous as Daisy cutter or moon man.

Just bring beers you would be happy drinking, and you'll have no problem at all.

It's decently available. Any vintage bottles or brewery only releases would be good. Check out seekabrew.com for availability of breweries in different states.

Me too. Also, the surrounding days look halfway decent, so it has my hopes up that if the forecast is off by a day or too, we're not in for a tidal wave. Even the "bad" surrounding days don't look apocalyptic.

I'd love that, but at this point, I'm like a battered housewife after the last 2 years. I'd be thrilled just to be able to stay dry all day and not have to worry about packing and wearing rain gear.

It's decently available, but I would totally recommend bringing it. The DORIS and BORIS stuff is excellent and will go over extremely well.

In addition to water, my wife and I will be sporting pretzel necklaces. Very effective for cleansing the palate.

I'm taking it a step further. I'll be the guy in the pretzel thong.

I'm down with that as long as it isn't hot out. High APV stouts plus heat is a bad recipe.
    Will you be eating th......nevermind.

Holy shit guys that took forever to catch up on. I guess going 2 days with out power will do that.

I'm with the cooler bag in a back pack crowd. Frozen water bottles will also become drinkable as the day progressed.

Last year I also had shelfies and did well. People are generous. I believe it was said just ignore the assholes and find someone nicer or someone in a Dragon Abortion shirt. They are probably standing next to the asshat.

And does anyone know for fact if there is a bottle share in Lansing I know people are staying there?

70K is magical, and I've sworn up and down that if Java Cask had a more hype-y brewery name on it, that stuff would FLY off shelves. It's ridiculously good. Hell I might go buy a bottle of it just to bring to DLD since it sits around in Indy.

Have you tried the TORIS yet? If not, find me I'll have two. (Triple BORIS)

Only bringing the Java cask because it is a coffee BA stout and we will be there early so I figured coffee + beer = yum

I have seen mixed reviews on 70K and the bottle I have is at least a year old. Trying to bring stuff no one is mentioning. Anyone wanting to try find me. Should be there with a good group around 7

Ah...Toris the Tyrant. It was Hoppin' Frog's first > 12% ABV beer. Ohio is relatively new to the whole > 12% ABV game because prior to August 31st last year, it was against the law to brew or distribute beer with ABV greater than 12%.

nice, have some BORIS so will add that to the Hoof and Jackie O's.

Hoof went over really well last year. I live a block from Brew Kettle, didn't bring but one bottle of Libre and I had tons of requests for White Raja which surprised me.
