I'm coming to Denver from Louisville, KY for a week at the end of the month with my girlfriend and 2 huskies. We plan on hiking in Boulder, Fort Collins, and Colorado springs in the mornings, then hit up breweries the rest of the day. However when I do research on pet friendly breweries in Denver, I get a lot of "Sorry the health department won't allow dogs in Denver breweries" (TRVE, Black Project, etc). However it seems like there are some that do allow pets such as Banded Oak, Comrade, and some others. Looks like most breweries in the other cities in CO are cool with pets. So what is the deal? I can understand if the brewery serves food. I'm guessing somebody that didn't have control of their pets ruined it for everyone else? I'm a little worried because it would suck if I couldn't enjoy Denver breweries because we have the dogs with us.
If the brewery is located within the city of Denver, dogs are not allowed inside the taproom. They could be allowed on the patio, but not supposed to have table service if dogs are inside the patio. Comrade has a Denver address, but it not in the city limits of Denver. That's why Comrade is well behaved pet friendly.
Yeah...they (the health department) used to be very lax about dogs, but it was because they 'didn't have the money to enforce it' as they didn't have enough man-power...no longer the case unfortunately. There are a bunch where you can tie them up outside of the patio (like Baere). Officially, dogs weren't allowed in the first place.
***well behaved dogs*** My little Odie- 75#, seen in my profile pic- is such a wildcard in these situations that I rarely bring him... he wants to meat everyone, but simultaneously doesn't like meating while on-leash usually.
We try to take our dogs everywhere. Most, if not all Louisville breweries are cool with it. Our favorite 3-4 day getaway is Asheville. We love that place because they are so dog friendly. They're celebrities over there. Great Divide responded back to a Facebook IM saying, "Yes! Our patios love pups?" Is there anyone else lenient?
