Even if you were seriously reporting, you'd be fine. It's not like trademark law prevents anyone from using a name at all; business news would be impossible. It's selling merch/creating brand confusion that's actionable. Or if you presented yourself as some kind of official FFF source...

The term "Dark Lord Day" is trademarked, so the glass is technically not legal. Even if he keeps it for personal use. I don't think that falls under fair use if he pays a company to print it for him. Doing the printing himself would fall under fair use, but in this case he is paying a company to create it which is allowing them to profit from selling something using a trademarked term.

I say go for it anyway, maybe the company won't do any checking and ship them out. As long as he doesn't turn around and try to sell them himself, he should be fine.

You could always go with "DLD MMXVII" instead.

Also, interesting fact from the trademark filing, they list its first use as April 2005, a few days before the first Dark Lord Day. Might add that tidbit to the wiki site.

I did the news reports how a real news reporter would, reading notes and improving. I did them as green screen test for work at first, and just made up 13 stories and plug and played them in just to do it simply because I am not being paid for these. Lol. If they keep going over this well, I'll up the game in 2018 for sure.

I'm fine with it. Every listing their bottles as just as much/little merit as anything else in this thread. There's nothing of any real use.
