    It's still cool, still wet.
    Shopping is done.
    The house is presentable for the in-laws.
    Might as well have another beer.

    Rainy day beer. And a strange music video.
    Why not.

    It's another bleak, chilly, and drizzly day here, so a little bit of triple stout seems fitting. Have a happy weekend, all. Cheers!

    After hearing the talk about lifting by those LNBAs @vabeerguy, @jvgoor3786, and @5EKF, I decided to try it for myself. Bonus is that it cuts the average cost of my membership per gym trip in half :grimacing:.

    I'm not sure why you guys put yourself through that, shit's hard! Much harder than I recall 6-7 years ago :wink:.

    But now it's time to:
    get plump, sit on my rump, like a bump;
    let's jump, get up and dump, big ol' Sump;
    it trumps, weights that you pump, says this grump;
    ba-dum-ditty-dump

    The GF picked the glass for us spending enough on beer at one shop. She thought it might be an offering to the GotD wizard. She's not quite aware how that works, but it does seems to work for today (you could tell if this weren't such a dark beer and poor choice by the photographer).

    The obligatory:

    Perfect beer and perfect glass for the Derby. Just, not together. Who cares?

    And it looks like there may be an anxious back-up...

    Wasn't feeling the JavaHead, so I decided to crack this open instead. Doing some cleaning, so I need some liquid energy.

    Aromas both citrusy and tropical with a flowery bouquet are followed with a similar juicy, moderately bitter splash of flavors... Mild honey-like sweetness on pale malt with soft, ripe fruit impressions... Soft, smooth, and light; amply carbonated with a great finish. Crafted in NY, brewed in Boston, featuring unspecified American and Australian hops...

    Delicious, but not sure why we're saving the robots though... :astonished:

    Uh, Terminator anyone? :rolling_eyes:

    Far as I'm concerned, Priest wrote that story about 4 years before James Cameron... :sunglasses:

    You're not Worthy. I'm happy this one now is relatively easy to find around here, like some others. Every evening Trappist or Duvel gets boring in the end :stuck_out_tongue:

    Without kidding, I like a broad spectrum of beers. Thanks to many of your postings I can make informed pickings in the bottle shops.

    Did some nice picking today in Amsterdam. For who is interested https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...st-beer-haul-2017.480801/page-37#post-5429422

    Cheers all!

    Nothing to do today that requires travel outside the property, so I guess it's time to start enjoying a few beers. First up is this crowler of Alternating Current (100% Centennial) from Triple Crossing

    [IMG]

    Nose is a little weird, as there's a tart biscuity lager (ya, makes NO sense) thing that's just a bit tinny as well. Taste is slightly grassy, largely earthy with all the tertiary bitterness of a green olive but none of the taste. Finish is mad dry with maybe a small dose of alcohol. This tastes ok enough where I'm not too bothered by having 32 ounces to work through, but I sure wish they would have let me get a crowler of Falcon Smash or Nectar and Knife (or vice versa that name).

    Another big sport watching day as the Derby will serve as pregame to an all important possible elimination game in the Pens Craps series. Smoking some pork for pulling, and will make some wings as well later. Hope to check in a few more times a little later.
