Completely agree with the random distribution choice. Eliminates any need to line up early and to get to the festival early. And it encourages folks to enjoy the day.

I suspect that random will lead to be a bit of variant trading.

 

Well can't complain, i was likely not getting there early enough if first come first serve, now just hoping i don't get vintage, good luck everyone lol

 

On the one hand I think this kind of kills some of the "spirit" of Dark Lord Day but eh, fuck it this is way better.

I'm hoping the totes have dividers with six bottle slots like the green reusable binnys bags.

I know the totes get a lot of grief, but I love my bag from last year. I use it all the time.

 

I don't know, that 30 seconds to a minute before you look at your bag will be pretty stressful.

Definitely less hassle and need to wait in line.

I love the people self-righteously shitting on group A as though they would not have had expectations had they had Group A.

 

I wonder how many people will try to slip the staff a $20 to find something good?

Even as a Group A holder, I'm totally fine with this and think it's the best way.

However, this also should have been communicated before tix went on sale. There are plenty of people who are traveling long distances and booked flights because of the ticket they were able to buy.

 

Isn't this year being run specifically by FFF staff and not any third party, like usual? I'm sure they will be trained properly at the table, and their jobs would probably be on the line if any shadiness occured.

Only reason I assume is because i've tried bribery back in the day of Golden Tickets to no avail...Employees valued their jobs more than that.

My assumption is allotments will be based off ticket number. What I did find interesting though, is ithis quote:

"We encourage you to pick up your Dark Lord allotments during your assigned group time. Guests who do not pick up their allotment during their assigned time are able to pick it up starting at 7 p.m., after Group E."

This is why I'm assuming its already predetermined by ticket. I'm anticipating racks of bags hanging, organized by ticket number. After group E they'll reorganize the racks and do pick ups for all the stragglers.
