CANBIF Spring 2017

Finally, the second box from Teemu. Incredibly generous... he did some world class stalking to figure out I had been looking for Alaskan for the longest time to extend a vertical... I am most humbled by the generosity...

 

So the Styrofoam dust has finally settled and I'm still in awe what arrived yesterday. Such a nice box of all new to me brews, I honestly have no idea where to start!

Solid looking box!!

 

Hi Ian. Thank you for putting together a varied array of beers - all but 1 of which are new to me. Looking forward to trying them (and bringing the larger formats to shares). I'll post a pic when I get home later.

(Gotta love Canada Post... pickup slip arrived on Friday)

 

Package is en route to a Western province. Mysteriously 'in transit'. Maybe it's in Manitoba, maybe Saskatchewan. The suspense!

 

My pleasure - glad I had the opportunity to participate in my first CANBIF, was definitely a good way to develop some new trading partners!

Box arrived Friday but I was out of town so I needed to drive a town over to pick it up yesterday. Everything arrived safe and sound with the exception of the styrofoam which may be on its last legs!
First off, special thanks to @cfrancis for putting together a sweet box of brews for me. It must have been difficult to have to buy beers in the same province as your target lives in. Some of these I have definitely never seen before and some that will be a pleasure to revisit!
I will be doing some 'yard work' today so some of these beers have been resigned to the cold chopping block. Thanks again Chad. Much appreciated!

 

That looks like a great box. I was sent Immoralite, the Sutton collab and DFP IPA in my box from my generous sender as well and they were incredible. You'll enjoy them.

(although I wouldn't be surprised if you may have had one or two of them before )

Thank you, Ian, for your kindness and broad selection of beers. All but 1 of them are new to me. Cracked open a few so far - the Helles is absolutely bang-on to style. The others will be enjoyed at some upcoming bottleshares.

Yeah, that selection pales in comparison of that from my colleagues... I'll get you another box soon. Expect the unexpected!.

Besides, how the hell do you guys fit freaking 20 beers in a 12 shipper is beyond me.

 

For the 24 cans I sent I didn't actually use a styro shipper box. Worked quite well to have a wine size box inside a 'small' Home Depot shipping box. Had to shrink the wine box down an inch though. And then surrounded the cans in the wine box (it was actually a HF box) with about 1kg of bubble wrap . I probably wouldn't do this with bottles but tbh I've received some styro shippers that had the bottoms falling out before. They aren't bomb proof either after the first use.
