I enjoy drinking the Helles. It is not available very often but I order a pint when I see it on tap.

    Cheers!

They are saying lager cans will be regularly available, so you may be in luck in the next month

Yeah, well, here is the thing: while Tired Hands makes a quality Helles beer their price point is 'out of whack'. IMO Sly Fox makes an excellent Helles (Sly Fox Helles Golden Lager) and I can obtain a 6-pack (192 ounces) for about 8 bucks. This price is significantly cheaper than the Tired Hands Helles and I can buy this beer when I do my grocery shopping at my local Wegmans.

So, to summarize: excellent beer that is cheaper and available conveniently (local Wegmans, local beer distributors,..) will be my packaged beer of choice.

Now, if I could just stop by the General Store at my convenience and buy a 4-pack of Alien Church (and that beer is 'on'), that is a worthwhile purchase.

    Cheers!

The price points are definitely steep, and many TH advocates like to remind people that the quality is what they are buying. Its True that Good, Fresh, Local Beer will come at a premium however, I do agree that they could come down in $$$ for items such as the Helles Lager, Trendler Pilsner or possibly even the Hop Hands ($14 a four pack, which is already on the lower end of the pricing) - I'd rather see TH cut back on the wide array of different IPA can releases, and just make more Hop Hands so its readily available - its their flagship beer and the Ferrari of the Ferm, over any temporary beer they have tapped.

I look forward to hearing how others comment to this statement. Based upon my readings of the monthly Tired Hands threads lots of folks prefer a variety of Tired Hands brands. Folks discuss things like: what flavor Milkshake will be available for the next Milkshake release? When is the next Milkshake release? etc.

    Cheers!

I love a lot of TH brews and yeah, most of the shakes are great...that said, not all of them are home-run beers & people who think the shakes are the best thing they make or, only want shakes are (IMO) sadly mistaken/ Misguided. The Hop Hands and Saison Hands got them going but the idea of the Shakes made in Collaboration with Omnipollo are what threw them over the top...unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) that is the "craze" with TH today. I love beers like Heavy Gem, Extra Knuckle, Hazy Jane and Trapper Pie - but I could have skipped any of those can releases and just had additional allotments of Hop Hands instead any day...Hopefully that will be the benefit of the General Store? When I think TH, its not Shakes I think of - its Hop Hands, Saison Hands, Alien Church, Shambolic, Ourison & maybe Oblivex

About a week ago I drank one can of Trapper Pie. While I enjoyed that one beer I couldn't shake the thought that while it was a tasty beverage it was not what I consider a beer.

Now, my recent drinking experience with a Strawberry Milkshake was a differing one for me:
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/new-beer-sunday-week-635.506301/#post-5406129

In my refrigerator I have cans of Blueberry Pancake and Extra Vanilla Milkshake beers? Will I enjoy them as much as I did the Strawberry Milkshake or will it be more like a Trapper Pie experience?

I had Blueberry Pancakes for breakfast this morning and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Would I want to drink these Blueberry Pancakes?

I enjoy drinking HopHands but my preferred Tired Hands beers are Alien Church and Pineal (when they are 'on').

I suppose everybody who participates on these monthly threads would provide differing answers as to their favorite Tired Hands beers.

    Except for maybe @DrinkAnchorSteam ?

    Cheers!

This. If TH starts making these more regularly so that they are available at the general store (eventually...I know it won't be right away), they'll get all of my ipa money again.

If you don't mind me asking: where is your IPA money going now?

    Cheers!

Edit: I will volunteer my 'answer' here: I am now drinking a homebrewed batch of Equinox IPA.

IMO you will Definitely enjoy them - although I thought the Extra Vanilla was eons better then the Blueberry Pancake - The vanilla was perfect and it was scary easy to drink LOL The Strawberry was really nice as well. I to love Alien Church and I have a 4 pack of Pineal in my fridge as we speak - along with the Panna Cotta Rose Milkshake which was much lighter than many of the shakes I have had before, but tasty and well made (realistically its still prob not worth $22 a 4pk) Pineal is great although it can be heavy on the honey notes so I have to be in the mood. I enjoy their cask beers at the Cafe as well, They just did a Hop Hands on cask with Guava a few weeks back - tasty stuff!

I have to give some due here, the batch of HopHands that released with Strawberry Shake is on point! Killer, I wish it would stay like this.

Roughly 50% Tired Hands, 50% other locals (Troegs, Vault, Hidden River, and Neshaminy of late). But if I could always get my hands on dialed-in Alien Church and Pineal, I'd just drink that and die a happy, drunk man.

There is no diacetyl my beer.

It is a very tasty beer with an intriguing & complex flavor profile. I wish I had the words to describe it. I am personally not aware of any commercial beers which feature Equinox (now called Ekuanot hops for some trademark issue) but if you ever see one I would suggest you buy it.

    Cheers!

I feel like all anybody pays attention to are the IPAs, and then the haters only criticize the IPAs, and beers like Shambolic, which is amazing, are totally ignored because the IPAs aren't totally consistent, or the lagers are overpriced.

The best part is that it is also apparently Tired Hands' fault that Forest & Main is charging $12 for a 32 oz. can of their latest IPA.

Unfortunately Tired Hands does indeed have the ability to impact the price structure of nearby breweries.:slight_frown:

    Non-cheers to that!

At the Fermentaria now, and I have to say, the IPA/DIPAs on-tap right now are really good. The Royal Double is perhaps my favorite, but Refreshing and Sea of Green are up there too.

Hit up the Ferm, don't take them to the Cafe. Last time I was there with kids they said they had no high chairs and pretty much had the worst customer experience ever.

Can I just say that, it will be my own fault of course for getting my hopes up, about this csa and the ability to try some different beers but I will be fairly disappointed if they are handing out HopHands and Trendler for ten weeks as the cans that come with your csa pickup. Love those beers (not the price) but want some variety. Not expecting milkshakes or anything like that every week but had expectations that it would be a similar situation to what it is now, hopefully not the ol Tired Hands bait and switch. They have some that they brew fairly regularly (for them) that I think would be awesome to rotate through.
