For the record for that conversation earlier. I saw a guy who obviously had line sitters with him.

Loading 11.5 cases into a car....

Can we admit that's a bit of an issue....

On a more positive note. Double dribble sounds DOPE.

Not that I'm emotionally invested or anything, but what happened to that blossoming love story?

I think Lay Ups was Galaxy, Motueka and Wai-iti. So it'll probably be a different beer, yet most likely no less incredible.

Last week I said to myself I'm only going to attend one other half release a month...

That lasted all but 12 hours

I need to spend this week drinking enough of the IPAs that currently reside in my fridge to justify going to OH on Saturday. Might have to burn a few vacation days. Might die.

    Wish me luck.

That sucks, unfortunate side effect of this, the leeches of society infiltrate the scene.

It's not outside infiltrators leeching off the scene.

    It is the scene.

If you are trading the beer...i think while that's extreme, its allowed. If you are reselling that is not acceptable. What is wrong is that just like with the Broccoli teku...the cheddar tekus are on ebay for 70 and 120ea... Those people should not be allowed back.

That sounds ridiculously good, never had that one. Wai-iti is fantastic, it has this little "zest" of sweetness/sharpness to it that I find myself loving.

You aren't trading $1000-1200 of beer in a week or 2 man. You aren't trading $600 of beer in a week or 2. When I trade with my consistent partners I trade 6-10 beers at a time, which I think is a good haul of limited beer. Max $60. That is a guy paying a couple people $100 for 2 hours of line sitting. Resale for double the cost. Pocket a grand a weekend. Make an extra $50k on your Saturdays per year. I see the guys with a couple cases whenever I go, but this was ridiculous this week.

I'm pretty convinced that these days there are people that are so Pokémon about beer that they are trading that much. Not that that makes it better in any way - at that level trading and reselling are interchangeable.

Point is there are some selfish dicks out there. Assuming every bad apple is selling the beer and not a "beer advocate" is probably off base.

I remember when people were reselling HT/SOS a few years ago that the brewers said if they found out who was reselling they'd be banned for life, but if its not on ebay or the like, how do you catch them?

How do you trade that much beer though. Because "theoretically" you are getting that much beer back. Thats 276 beers. If you trade 2/3 of them, you still have 91 beers. That also means you shipped 182 beers, and shipping large allotments are anywhere from $12-25 a pop too.

I don't think it's possible to be trading that much beer, honestly. This seemed to me like a guy with a sandwich shop selling beers for $10 a can, and flipping a grand a week.

As for "how do you catch them." I never brought up anything about that. Why? Because it's impossible. The internet is a vast vast place. If he's a couple states away, OH isn't going there to find out. The only way to do this is limiting beer, so douches like this don't come in and grab 250+ beers making it "worth their while." It made me sick to my stomach to watch.

There is no way that any one of the dudes posting their 3-4 case "hauls" every weekend at OH is drinking OR trading all of that beer. If you are trading 70 cans week you should be getting at least as many in return or lets say half the amount in bombers. Nobody is drinking that much beer. The beer is being resold or wasted.
