Im a huge Founders fan but lately they're driving me nuts w/ these weird Barrel Aged Series releases. DKML?? Doom?? WtF Founders?!

Throw some of this rum barrel-aged porter in a bottle and you'll have every cowboy in Houston lining up to buy.

Future brother in law brought this for the daughter's fourth birthday and junior's communion party since he lives five minutes from the brewery.

 

Having a flight of three at the Prairie Berry/Miner East Bank taproom in Sioux Falls, SD. The beers are Miner Belgian Dubbel, Belgian Tripel, and an Inner Humility Lager. All very good. Miner Brewing is in the Black Hills, and is a subsidiary of Prairie Berry Winery. In Sioux Falls they have a Wine tasting room and taproom. We were sitting out on the patio on an 82 degree South Dakota day, after having the (hopefully) final snowstorm of the season on Monday May 1st. Snow was gone by Monday afternoon, and we've had beautiful weather since. Joined today by my wife, our daughter, and a friend.

The nose on this is fantastic, but upon sipping it, it just tastes like a solid golden lager. Now, that means it's still a solid lager, I just wish the berry and green notes that I can smell showed up on the palate!
