The idiots that buy these cans at $10-12 should be called out for creating the market for re-selling. If no one bought it, it wouldn't pay for them to do it.

Yesterday there was a natives versus foreigners argument. Today it's whether to go after the buyer or the seller. I think if we figure out how to address Other Half's supply vs. demand we'll solve the world's immigration and drug problems. Mind blown.

I think this is a strong case for breweries not distributing. In the OH thread we discuss big topics like the above. Rather than the Grimm thread which is "just got my cans from WF CC, looked like about 12 left"

They definitely don't care. Store resellers get there early to wait on line (good for keeping the hype up) and buy max allotments (good for the bottom line).

But it is illegal in New York.

Good point. If they really cared, they could stop them somehow. The stores are posting the cans all over facebook and beermenus, so it's not that hard to figure out.

But in this case they are buying directly from the manufacturer

They are not buying it through the distribution channel, them and their mules are just lining up like everyone else and buying it.

I know some people will say they are just filling a need, but the stores who play by the rules and don't do things like this suffer. And just imagine how much easier it would be to get OH beer if people like this weren't clogging up the line.

Exactly my point as well. This just makes things worse.

Agreed. The small businesses that do not sell beer illegally are penalized for not being cheaters.

Just report the stores to the liquor board that are doing this and I'm pretty sure it would end rather quickly.

Discussion going on about recent ABI communications to brewers that South African hops will no longer be available unless you're a member of the ABI family. This business is ruthless y'all.

Will this week's releases be available for growler fills in the tap room? I know that usually is the case with each release but given the limits I'm wondering if most of it went into cans.

Which I find so hysterical about the people who show up at 5-6am to be out by 10:00-10:30 and justify it by saying "I need to be out early to get on with my day." You can literally show up 3 hours later around 8:30-9:00 and still be out by 11:30.

I may just have to plan on getting a bunch of that. Hopefully it lasts until the afternoon and there isn't much of a line then, so, I don't have to stand outside in a monsoon.

Anyone have any insights of how heavy rain typically affects the OH lines? I always just refuse to go...

27.64% decrease in ALL (average line length) is the typical impact of heavy rain.

I call fake news on this. Typically a triple dry hopping drives up the FOMO, otherwise known as the frothing at the mouth factor, which in turn drives up the ALL by at least a factor of 4 factorial. Oh and let's not forget you have to factor in the galaxy hops, the kids associate them with the "juicy" factor as we're calling it, thus also driving up the ALL. So glad I took algebra.
