Yep. Agreed, and have quoted that article before. Nonetheless, the lad who elevated the style, and took it to another level..."If there’s a Thomas Edison when it comes to this new style, it would be Jean Broillet IV"

TH Newbie here .... Question - I am about 30-40 minutes away (in Wilm, DE) from the brewery and just want to make a trip when it isn't crowded to get a bunch of growlers and try a variety of what is on tap. I assume I should avoid can release days so I will keep an eye on IG, but if I just show up at 4 on a Tuesday, would that ensure a somewhat short line? Just trying to get a feel for the best day/time with TH and driving traffic in mind. Thanks.

Short line? On a Tuesday at 4 you'll walk right in and get a seat at the bar with no wait whatsover, so don't stress over it. Enjoy the beer and your visit, it is worth the trip.

Hey there - I'm in N. Wilmington and make the trip occasionally. It tends to be busy during the usual weekend times, but late afternoon on a non-can release day should be just fine. Bring quarters for the meters!

Hey all! apologies for the newbie post regarding Tired Hands but I'm hoping the regulars can help me get a handle on things down at TH. Read the 5 pages in this thread but still have a few questions...

I live up in Boston and while I've tried some of their beers via trade (OMG looove alien church and hop hands) I've never been to the facility. A family situation is likely going to bring me down to Philly unexpectedly in the next few weeks and while that is the main reason for my visit I'm hoping I can slip in a visit to TH while there.

-Can releases are Wednesday... looking at instagram it seems to be weekly, is that always the case or some Wednesdays don't have cans?
    - Do can sales occasionally happen on other days?
-Can sales start at 5pm? How late do they keep selling?
-How early does the line start? (from reading this thread it seems variable with the big lines happening on milk shake releases... any additional insight?)
-Can sales are from the fermentaria correct? Is that also where they do growlers?
-Do they sell growlers on can release days or only when they aren't selling cans?
-Do people do trades in the area around TH like happens up at Tree House? If not onsite is there a good thread here or a fb group to try and setup some trades for what I can get near me (Tree House, Trillium, Exhibit 'A')?
    -Any other tips/tricks/suggestions?

I will likely be making a quick mid-week trip down and looking to make the most of it as far as picking up some beer from Tired Hands and hoping to get more than just whats available from the brewery via trades if that is possible.

Thanks in advance and hope everyone has a great weekend!

-Cans are usually on Wednesdays, and every once in a while on Thursdays and Sundays.
-They start at 5pm at the Ferm until they sell out. If there is no line at some point the left over cans are sent to the bar where you can buy them (maybe around 8ish if they last that long).
-People line up or put a chair down as early as noon. I've been in milkshake lines up to two hours, but I usually show up at 5. That being said, I've gotten cans for everything I've been in line for if I show up before 5:30 (including 3 milkshake releases). Something like Refreshing took me about 20 minutes in line when I showed up after 5.
-Growlers are at the Ferm and in the Cafe as well.
-People trade a lot in the line, usually you can set it up in advance through the Instagram/Release posts. You can also bring cans and just trade with people you find there.
    Good luck!

Fluffernutter was a little disappointing. Nothing screamed....fluffernutter. Still on at the cafe for those interested.

    Synths...

And I'm back...Took a break from TH at the height of the line controversy. Time to restock my fridge. Saw this and I had to chime in. As much as I'd love to see the Commonwealth embrace hallucinogens and empathogens (therapeutic use), they're most likely referring to instruments. Moog, Korg, Nord, ARP, Dave Smith, and things that produce brown notes.

Only thing to keep in mind is the Brew Cafe is closed mondays and opens at 4 during the week and noon on weekends. Both do growler fills of everything (except the cask beer)

They will occasionally not offer growler fills of certain beers. They didn't do growlers of Grassman the first time they released it.

Very rarely, even now with the shakes the do the smaller growler fills. I remember when they allowed the full growler fills of the shakes, that was awesome.
