Biggest beer pet peeves

NO kidding.
A couple years ago, there was a thread around the holidays from someone wanting to share a couple beers with his dad (IIRC.) He was worried and obsessing with which glasses to use (also IIRC, a pseudo-tini glass, wine glass and one or two other styles.)
In a case like that, use a bloody Solo cup if that's what you have; this one is more about the experience of sharing the beer with dad, not a .0001% change in the subtleties of the aroma and such.

ETA: And yes, sometimes the glassware matters, and can make a difference, but most of us don't really have the palate to tell.

 

That may be an ATF requirement for proper labeling.

I'm that other guy. I should have been more specific - I was referring mostly to the difficulty of finding IBU online, and sometimes even ABV. ABV is typically on the beer label, possibly even mandated in some states.

Not according to the TTB* which would allow either "spiced" or the specific spice(s) on the label according to Ruling 2015-1 - (examples on pg 2).

* (ATF hasn't regulated beer labels since 2003).

 

What's even worse is when people are showing off their rare beer with proper glassware and yet the glass is dirty as fuck!

This, too. My eyes roll back when I see people cutting their beer teeth on Heady Topper, Tree House, etc. and then turn around and give 2 stars to a proper lager. Insane.

 

Guilty. I rinse with hot water most times. Alcohol is a disinfectant, and I usually drink high ABV beer!

 

Ah, it happens to the best of us. At least you are honest! I don't have a dishwasher in my apartment so most of my glassware doesn't get 100% clean, there are usually a few spots you can't reach (weizenbier glass especially). It's not dirty glasses that bother me as much as people who are showing something off (like that guy who posts a pic in a thread where none are being posted)

Yea yea yea. Someone else said the same thing. I guess I'm guilty too. Btw I think pretty much everone online knows what idk means though.

As far as the trade goes. I have b2 gkkshy. Sorry. ISO andtwween BA version pre b2 though.

 

- pouring a beer all the way to the rim with no foam at all, just for a photo. Takes so much work, and just for some instagram likes. It looks stupid.

- people only liking IPAs if they are hazy. Grow up?

- not aging beers long enough on wood, aka, bourbon barrel aged stout: aged 1 month. It just kills me. So much potential, lol.
