The last 2 times I went to Floyds the food was way better than the beer. I've never had a bad meal there.

Seems like they kind of piled up, 16 on Untappd? I never trust that thing.

I don't even bother with untapped anymore. I haven't for a while. Almost everyone that I know that uses it only puts beers into it to increase their numbers. Most of them put the ratings in the next day because they drank too much that night/day. There's no way those ratings are even close, especially on beers consumed towards the end of a share.

I may have missed this in the 197 pages of this thread that I did not read, but will Dark matter being selling snifters online again this year as they did last year, even though last year they said they wouldn't be doing this?

true....I rated about 15 at DLD, and took pics of the rest added them yesterday with no ratings... maybe 2 exceptions on beers that REALLY stood out. No way I can accurately rate beers trying so many.

Hence why I check it in without a rating. Especially if you're only getting an ounce or two. Untappd can be fun to keep track of beers you've had, but I take ratings with a grain of salt. Hype definitely ups the value on some stuff by .5 to even a full point.

I use it primarily to keep track of what I'm drinking, take a couple notes, and see if I've had certain beers before. But yeah the ratings aren't the best. I guess I'm part of the problem here cuz if I give something a 3.5 it's usually just ok, 4 is good, 4.5 great and 5 is super double-secret whalez bro awesome. Should probably rethink this system... and my life.

i like debating about Untappd as so many people use it differently.

i still use it as a way to log what i've had, when and where and do my best to check in everything as i'm drinking it (it really doesn't take long to do it). however, i never rate anything. personally i just don't get the point of rating beers. really, wtf is the difference between a 4.25 and a 4.5?! i think that's so subjective that in the end it's pointless. the best compliment i could give a beer is actually repeating the experience. and i get not all beer is as accessible as others, but if you've tried a beer 10+ times, you have to like it because if not why drink it that much?

one friend checks everything in, but only once. and he rates everything. i've asked why only once and never gives a straight answer. i think he may just want to hide how much he drinks lol.

another checks in everything, but in huge waves. like 30 at a time. we don't live in the same city so i'll ask "hey when did you try that?" and he'll be like "oh 3 weeks ago".

and then there's the one that always reviews them. which is very helpful, more so than a silly star rating, but that must be so time consuming.

apologies for the rant, but i'm curious as to how those that still use it go about it.

They most likely will. Keep checking their social media pages and you'll know when they go on sale on their website. Cheers!

I've used Untappd for years to keep track of good beers I've had, but now I'm using it more for the wishlist notification function. Especially after all of the great stuff I tried at DLD.... I wasn't sober enough, nor had enough of a pour to judge it, but it's nice to have Untappd let me know if it just happens to pop up at a bar nearby...

I rate on Untappd by how the beer is compared to other similar beers. So for example I gave Yuengling a 4.5 and Dark Lord a 4, even though I obviously consider Dark Lord the better overall beer. Yuengling is one of the best for me in the style and Dark Lord is a tad less.

Otherwise the only beers that would get high ratings would be IPA's stouts and sours, and that's not fair because there are lots of great styles of beer.

Untapped is like an other game on your phone. A slot machine with shiny digital objects you get for participating. I know I'm cynical, but that's their game.

Well if you'd post your DLD-Aftermath video I'm sure that would get us about another page.

Push to 200 time/Im too lazy to browse through recent posts.

Did anyone actually try Dia Oscuro this year that wants to give a flavor breakdown?

So has ChemTrailMix surpassed FVM as the number 2 variant this year?

Not in my books, but one person said "Cinnamon Toast Crunch" one time and the internet blew up.

It was good, I liked it a lot personally, not more so than other variants though, except for Biggleswade and Temeculan. Funny thing, my lady who actually liked Temeculan, said it wasn't that much better than Temeculan.

So much of what's described here is why I don't even believe 10% of the people that have rated Oscuro on Untappd have even tried it.
