Darklord Day 2017

It was on tap Sunday and lasted all day on Monday. Finally blew around 7 pm. Floyds tapped 2 1/6 barrels on Monday when I asked the bartender. Funny how that happens!!!

 

Don't worry, Ronaldo is just Bourbon Barrel Dark Lord that started catching a cold. They pasteurize him before he gets too out of hand.

 

They had Marshmallow Handjee on tap at the RateBeer Best festival in 2016 at least, not sure about this year.

I think today will be the day I solo a fresh dark lord while grilling.

 

How can you even want to drink right now?? I still feel messed up from Saturday.

I love their beer, but felt out of place at their hipster bar.

 

Didn't I have a couple of their cans I shared at dld? I honestly can't remember what ones I brought over for everyone. I love their brewery it's just a barn in the middle of nowhere. Nothing hipster about it at all.

 

I do have to admit the brewpub in Cbus is far different than the brewery in Marengo, but that's because it was designed in part to be included in the Stone campus which never came to be, and went to VA instead.

These days though there's plenty of goofy, 90s dorky shit going on at the brewpub. Lots of WWF and Big Trouble in Little China

 

I thought I was the only one that noticed this.

 

That sounds like a lot more fun than my experience at the place in town. I honestly don't recal if I had any hoof Saturday. I didn't check any into untapped anyways.

 

I've seen a lot of people post on untapped drinking at the Mikkler Beer Festival this weekend but that's all the way Copenhagen. But maybe it means it could be at the Boston one this year.

 

Ok, I have to ask (for the sake of keeping this thread alive what is the story behind this dragon abortion hoopla? This is what I'm gathering. It was a joke band that people just kept running with the joke? Who made all the shirts? I keep hearing people say they were seeking DA guys out and hooking them up with pours. Are they like DLD OG's?

Great Band but they got cancelled last minute!

 

I always drink mine within a week or two of DLD. I have been burned by infection from barrel aged FFF beers on too many occasions to run the risk of letting them sit for very long. Call me paranoid, but whatever. Plus I am a big fan of drinking beer fresh since that is usually what the brewer intended the beer to taste like.

 

For the record, 2017 dark lord on draft was better than my first bottle.
