Good morning, BA's! The sun is trying to peek through the gloom here in the Cedar Valley. Methinks this is a short-lived atmospheric phenomenon.

Just getting back to hotel after long day/night. Mrs. Z was readmitted last night due to (hopefully) minor complication. Expecting good news later today.

Drinking 21st Amendment's "Lower De Boom", a Barleywine Style Ale, canned 12/17/15:

Tasty. Looks and tastes like Dogfish Head 120 Minute Lite. Some breakfast, a shower, then back to the hospital. Cheers!

    Friends,
I am following @dcotom 'a advice and trying to carpé this diem!
Wife's away on a field trip with my kid, so I feel it is my duty to sample some brews as I relax from my night shift.
And I wish the best to @DoctorZombies for his better half!!

I start with a New Beer today.
Alchemist Farmers Daughter: Belgian style saison.
Now this is one interesting take on saisons. Kimmich talks about tasting Pilsner Urquell from an unfiltered keg and wanting to "cross" it with the dry hopped version of Saison DuPont. So they ended up using 100% Czech Pilsner malt and a Belgian yeast to make almost a version of "Belgian Pilsner" if you will.
I definitely taste the Pilsner malt and also the Belgian yeast. I gotta give that to him. [IMG]
It does have the classic saison head and endless stream of carbonation from the bottom of my Allagash Chalice. [IMG]
I actually left the yeast residue and did not pour it in my glass. I like both my pilsners and saisons clean, Mr. Kimmich. I'll keep the haze for the IPAs and the DIPAs.
I did pour out the last part and drink it, of course. Only difference I felt was the mouthfeel, it was little heavier in it. Here it is:[IMG]
In summary, the beer did deliver on what it promised to be. Not sure if it will be my "go to" saison. Regardless, it's a pleasure drinking it.
Cheers advocates and see y'all soon

I spent three years of my training in Tennessee so I have a special place for country music in my heart. Also, having English as a second language, it was the only music I could understand when I first came to this country 14 years back.

What's up BAs? Jakescully is still enjoying some warm days in northern France. Couldn't even stay on the beach for too long as I forgot my swimming trunks i.e. Speedo... Meh. Carpe diem is the motto of today's thread and I can only approve of it...

By the way, drinking rince cochon straight from the can.

    Stay hydrated, and cheers!

Since today's post has not yet featured the classic opener favored by many a BAs, I take it upon myself to bear this burden.
Here it is, the quintessential, the one, the only, (drum roll) the Breakfast Stout!

Following up a visit to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam with some late afternoon beers at Butcher's Tears - a very cool spot with great people and great music (first two records were Lee Morgan and then Eric Dolphy so I'm feeling right at home).

A little artistic drunkenness from the museum!
