As a born and bred Masshole, but an unusually sensitive one, I'm actually okay doling out some (awkward) hugs on special occasions, and particularly after a few beers. I like hugs, personally, if only because they tend to work when words fail, which is often. But under no circumstances will I hug anyone from New York, or who even once rooted for the Yankees. Those mofos can fuggedaboutit.

Since you've graciously agreed to host, is there a cap you'd suggest? @cherche could keep tabs on his spreadsheet and lock it if and when a limit is reached, with instructions going out to people afterwards. This is a public board, after all, with more readers than participants, and word travels fast these days regardless of whether anyone actively spreads it. Not sure if this is too draconian or even necessary under the circumstances, but the last thing any of us would want is you left holding the bag, and regretting opening up your space on what should have been your weekend...

 

As a native 315er from the Core of Apple Country, I am relieved to hear this. Now I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled for a drive-by groping from the Masked Crusher from Bend.

 

Oh, sorry for the confusion, but I was referring only to the city. Upstate is fine. It's practically an annex to New England, anyway. So you, big fella, shall remain in my sights. Don't worry, though...it'll all be over before you even know it...
