Jackie O's (2018)

They only had a few of their own (core beers) since they just started brewing there, but the guest list wasn't too shabby for the small contingency of people who like that JOs stuff

 

@beace - The label listing for Appervation indicates that it is a blend of both your 'signature barrel aged stouts.' For side project, this is assumed to be the base for derivation, but for JO is this base Dark App, or a different one? If you do not wish to indicate, that is fine - my primary concern is just whether your base is made with any nuts. I am deathly allergic.

I'm sure they'd say on the label if there were any nuts. Brad doesn't like to put his nuts in people's mouths without them knowing.

 

Yes this is a blend of the Dark Apparition and Derivation recipe. No nuts were used in this beer. Also to clarify some comments that I have seen mainly in Facebook forums... This is a recipe that Cory and I developed and brewed at Jackie O's. The resulting beer was then placed into bourbon barrels and aged at Jackie O's. This was not a blend of side projects Derivation and jackie O's BBDA simply being blended together, each beer coming from separate producers. This is also one of the best beers we have ever put out, I could not be more proud/happy with the final product.

 

Ugh. Man I hope there are still some bottles Friday afternoon. Was hoping to head down tomorrow morning, but work has gotten in the way. Stupid work, not understanding this is much more important.

Also is there any sort of bottle share before hand like other breweries. First time going for one.

Hititng brewpub / public house for bottles, lunch, and drafts. Does it matter which you do first? Mostly wondering if you can sit down and do lunch and then grab bottles on your way out the door.

 

When we went, not a release day, we grabbed our bottles on the way out the door. I would imagine on a Wednesday they won't sell out, but stranger things could happen.

 

at the brewpub, do you buy them at that public house or in the brewpub area? Never purchased over there before.

I retract my statement about work. I told them it was more important and taking a half day. I'll be down around 4 today. If it's already sold out by then, I quit.

Side note, I've only been to the actual brewery. Are the Brewpub/Public House two separate locations, just within walking distance of each other? Are both having releases or they're just releasing the bottles from one?

And to add to that, I saw originally JO's posted "Available at All Athens locations" Does that mean also at the brewery? Hoping to just go grab our bottles, then sit down for drafts and dinner.
