We're not a huge store so we'd like to keep as much room as possible for (Colorado) craft beer. Sure, we'll still carry BMC "premiums", but phasing out Lagunitas, Breck and the like. We can't compete anyway when Rite Aid buys big drops and slaps on a sale price (and keeps a warm stack of IPAs for months). But the bottom line is we don't want to support those breweries who don't support craft beer and craft beer consumers.

Who's "We"? and why was it refused? Just curious

Makes sense, plus these are supposedly only in 12 packs. I don't buy any of the other sellouts, but Lagunitas has a soft spot in the heart (stomach).

Yep May 2nd. Will try it tomorrow. They had it for $20.98 a 12 pack which I found excellent. I think the past 2 years I have paid either $12.99 or $13.99 a 6 pack..

Just went to applejack in Arvada and their beer guys were clueless about the beer. Had never heard of it. They just always say to check tomorrow, because they get trucks every day. Ran in into the same thing looking for High Westified. (still looking)

A medium-sized store Grapes and Grains. I'm the beer buyer (more part time than I used to be), but the owner puts in an order or two when I'm not looking.

Why? The Heineken buyout. It's difficult to do, but I'll keep my support of big beer minimal (if at all).

'Cept it ain't Lagunitas no mo'. I got flack from another brewery for dropping their stuff after a sellout. The logic behind their complaint was...well, let's call it "presidential" :astonished:

I still have a 6 pack of High west. I usually go to the odd 13 monthly releases if you ever plan on being at one lmk and I'll give you a couple bottles..

Haters! If InBev offered them millions of dollars they would crack also.

I hate that InBev is buying up breweries. It sucks. but if they threw me millions and said my family will be set for life I would also sell out to them. Sad but true

That is true, but that's a different issue. I don't blame them for selling. I'm not hating the seller: Once they sell then they are removed from the equation. Wicked Weed is no longer. Lagunitas is no longer. They are now Bud and Heiny.

I disagree with the buyers' tactics, strategies and ethe, which are usually polar opposite of the sellers', and which are detrimental to the beer scene, beer consumers and the economy. Why should I support them, because they keep the brand names as facades? No. It's smoke and mirrors. The "you'd sell, too" is true, but misplaced.

Sorry if it came off that I was targeting you, I wasn't. I would also try and keep InBev off my shelves I love what Small Batch does. I guess like others Lagunitas has a soft spot to me. The IPA was one of the first craft beers I started drinking. I have no plans of ever buying any Wicked Weed stuff anymore, to me that one felt like they were setting up from the beginning to be bought out. Of course that's purely speculation and my opinion.

    Cheers
