Mine would have to be Jever. Although, to be fair, I've only had Jever and SA's Noble Pils. Both were exceptionally better than their bottled counter part. Is this usually your experience with Pilsners? I love Jever in the bottle when it's stored properly to avoid skunking, but the draft version has just spoiled me.

What's been your experience, and your favorite on tap?

Jever is definitely a nice one. I'm going to cheat a little and say Victory's Braumeister Pils. It's not a single beer, but rather a Pils series with each version showcasing a different Noble hop. It's draft only, served unfiltered, and I get it whenever I see it.

That's my experience with almost all styles. I think it's usually fresher than the bottles.
My favorite Pilsner is from the local brew pub JP Pilsner at Trap Rock. Great brew and always fresh.

While not technically a Pilsner, I really love Cold from TRVE brewing, with pivo a close second.

It looks like they call it a Kellerpils on their website. Also, thanks for the tip. I go out to Denver a couple of times a year for work and have completely missed this brewery. Any good lager is worth my attention.

As @dennis3951 mentions about himself, generally my experience is that beer on tap is generally fresher and better than the same beer bottled, especially after the bottled beer has been in the bottle for weeks or months.

My favorite on tap is the one that I can find on tap.

Surprise! They're better known for their barrel sours. I was really surprised by the beer, it's phenominal.

I've really enjoyed several Foothills Torch Pils lately. Dry, good body, and flavorful....also, pretty in the glass.

Charlotte is lucky to have Olde Mecklenburg which does a magnificent job of reproducing German beer styles.

I can name three locals that likely aren't available to most of you all, but they are amazing. They are Suarez Family Brewers Palatine Pils, Nimble Pils, and Qualify Pils. Also enjoy Von Trapp Pilsner quite a bit.

Oh man, Braumeister Pils is SO good. I agree here... Along with Prima Pils and Sierra Nevada's Gothic Pils (draft only).

Hands down, the Würzburger Hofbräu Premium Pilsner. And yes, it's considerably better on tap than it is out of the bottle.

If I'm going to go local, then I'll pick one from each coast. As noted above, the Victory Braumeister pils versions were always the gold standard when I lived in Baltimore (with all due respect to Troegs, Stoudts and Slyfox).

Out here the Upright Engelberg pils is pretty hard to beat, especially if you like your pils in the hoppier style (with all due respect to Heater Allen, Chuckunut and pFriem).

Suarez is served in the city at a few places, I think. You can check the site that sounds like beeer menus dot com. OTOH highly recommend a trip to Suarez especially as there are some other great breweries on the way north.

There is a German bar near my house and the Bitburger there is one of the best beers I've ever had on tap.

    I also enjoy Pilsner Urquell.
I've had Prima Pils too on tap once that was great.

I had a Lagunitas Pils while out to dinner with the wife. The tap was so fresh and delicous I thought I might pick up a six. I was highly dissapointed in the bottled over the tap. Seemed really strange but that tap was just so damn fresh!
