The last of my Biere de Garde - a clone of Domain DuPage from Two Brothers. Its actually much lighter colored than my poor picture shows.

First time using a Two Track Malt (M3 which is a hybrid Munich/Vienna product). Paired it with 1728 fermented on the cool side. Very nice malty background.

Started off the evening with the p lager which tastes great but is way under carbed followed by the countess oatmeal stout and finishing with the smokey blue Boris IRS.

Did you add lactose, vanilla bean and any fruit to your milkshake recipe?

Yes. I added 0.5 lb lactose and 1.5 lbs flaked oats - this was a 5.5 gal batch. To me the feel came out right.
I added the tincture of one cut/scraped vanilla bean in 2 oz of rum at kegging, and the vanilla is definitely there but not overwhelming. I will repeat this next time.
I did not add fruit but I did "dry hop" with blood orange zest (6 oranges) for 2-3 days. With all Mandarina hops, I'm happy with the citrus taste. It is a bit bitter and I will skip the 15-20 IBU bittering charge next time and just stick with late boil/FO/dry hops. I'll probably use Citra next time.
I also did not go full Tired Hands, and went without adding any flour or pectin (from apples) in the boil. I'm happy with the look and feel with the grain bill, double dry hop, and London III yeast.

'Levanna Heights' Cascade IPA. My cousin owns a hop farm in northern Ohio, and he gave me a pound of cascade pellets. Needless to say I went pretty heavy on the cascade for this one.

Golden Promise, oats, some vienna and touch of carapils. Fermented with Imperial Organic A24 dry hop blend. Came in at about 7.8% abv. Very juicy, lots of grapefruit.

I am all about my NE Style Fruited IPAs. This one is straight Columbus + Citra on Blackberries.

I love making milkshake IPAs, especially with fruit. I usually go with a lot more lactose, but usually that offsets the bitterness from any fruit I add (like raspberries or strawberries). Fixing to do another batch of my strawberry milkshake IPA, its always a huge winner!

    This is my current version:

    STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE IPA
For 5.5 gallons at 1.073 OG 1.012 FG
    66 IBU
    5.3 SRM
    8.0% ABV

    Malt
    8.0 lbs pale malt
    2.0 lbs Golden Naked Oats
    1.0 lbs flaked oats
    1.0 lbs white wheat malt

    Mash
    Single infusion mash at 150°F

    Hops
1.0 oz Columbus for 60 minutes
1.5 oz Mosaic whirlpool at 180°F for 20 minutes
1.5 oz Mosaic whirlpool at 180°F for 20 minutes
3.0 oz of Mosaic at dry-hop (10 days after fermentation start, or when kegged)

    Yeast
    Conan

    Miscellaneous
1.5 lbs lactose (added 2 days after fermentation start)
6.0 lbs strawberry puree (added 2 days after fermentation start) [For the puree, took 6lbs of frozen strawberries, added 1.5lb of lactose on stove with ~12oz of fermenting ‘wort’ and heated gently to around 180F for ~15 minutes, to ensure no contamination of wild yeast)

Note: You can also add some pectinase at this time, which might help breakdown the strawberries a little more and enhance flavor extraction.

A couple milestones here... my first all grain brew and my first gose. Just an awesome beer. Crisp, tart, salty, funky. Will definitely brew again! Maybe with some fruit additions.

    My session NE pale. 3.9%

Loving this beer!! It has a slightly herbal/dank, extremely faint grassy or pine like note... But then huge orange/citrus. Literally tastes like Julius in the profile, slight orange creamsicle thing going on. Body is fantastic for such low ABV, tastes much bigger. This is my second session at 4% or less and so happy with how they both turned out. Similar grist, different hopping. This one was Columbus, Mandarina, Belma and Azacca.

Then my NE IPA, just shy of
7% ABV... All Columbus and Galaxy. So awesome as well! Hard to pick which one I like more.

Both look great, I'm thinking about trying my hand at making a session IPA this summer. Did you mash at a higher temp to try and keep the body from being too thin?
