GRIMM's been down around St Louis for a while now and I've never seen their cans. Some good sours and goses though

Nitpicking: New England in geographical origin but not style in my opinion.

Grimm makes great IPAS. Very much in the vein of Hill Farmsteads. Closest thing in Chicago would be the early Hailstorm cloud series...

I found a list of great beer bars (Proletariat, Fool's Gold, Blind Tiger, and Haymaker Bar) and just monitored recent check ins on Untappd. All of them seemed to have some combination of Other Half and Grimm beers plus even a little Hill Farm thrown in

Like someone put Grimm has been in Chicago for a while. It is by Shelton brothers and it is only Sours and Stouts... on that note if you see any Double Negative and variants you want them! They self distro all hops so we will not see any....

Blind Tiger is an amazing beer bar

They all use beer menus pretty well too... Pony Bar, The Well, Torst, Blind Tiger are some big hitters but there are a ton more- Threes Brewing not only has solid beers but they have full liquor liscense so it's a cool spot to hang and Grimm,Alchemist, Other Half send them their beer to sell as well! And you want to try every single Hill Farm you run into out there!

Used to live in Hoboken and would venture into the city occasionally...Proletariat and Blind Tiger were our gotoes. Would also recommend Rattle N Hum (two locations, both in Manhattan) and The Jeffrey, also in Manhattan.

If you find yourself in the Financial District and it isn't oppressively hot (the AC doesn't seem to be up to the task), Fraunces Ale House has has a good list of stuff.

Will also throw in Valhalla in/near Hell's Kitchen. Found it via untappd and was able to try Hill Farmstead's Society and Solitude #4. It may very well be the best DIPA I've ever had.

S&S series are most floral DIPAs I've ever had. Love that series.

If we're just gonna talk about NYC beer bars and beers, I change my vote to locking this thread down.

If you are visiting Blind Tiger, might as well walk a few blocks over to Hudson and check out Upright Brewhouse. Smaller tap list but great happy hour pricing and some damn good beer on draft. They always seem to have Threes SFY (Super F*cking Yawn) on, which is one of my favorite IPAs coming out of NYC.

Bit the bullet on a four pack of that 18th Street / Transient Zero Discipline. Pretty good, basically just a fruit juice vibe. Wish it had more of a bite to it on the back end, but ok. Glad I checked it out.
