Don't. Only because if it breaks in your luggage you'll have to burn everything in the suitcase.

Are people not staying at Adelaide allowed to join in? Also, what time does that thing go down?

Last year was my first Adelaide share and I was anxious about it too. I quickly realized I didn't need to be. It was very mellow. If people go to the pool they are prepared to hang out with a bunch of people--If they want have a private share they'll stay in there rooms or rent VRBOs. No one will ask or care where you're staying.

As far as the time, last year started late because it was 100+ degrees and no one wanted to be outside. It wouldn't surprise me if things start earlier frieday given the superior drinking conditions.

There are normally two shares going on outside at the Adelaide, one at the pool and another in the grass area next to the parking lot. They just happen when they happen and no one is going to care if you are staying there or not.

I think we're looking at high 80s for Saturday. Not exactly what I wanted but it could be worse.

It's not 100+ during the day and only cooling down to 80s at night like last year. Based on the current weather report I might actually have to bring a sweater for nighttime bottle sharing.

Oh yeah. It'll be much better at night. I was just hoping for like...80 and partly sunny. Ha.

I'll be there with my friend. I got some Alvarado Street, Sante and Bruery to share.

Yeah, weather might actually be pretty good. A few years back it was over 100.

Adelaide grassy area is all good for anyone, the pool area you need someone to get you through the gate if you aren't staying there, not too hard for any resourceful BA...

I had to wait for @tyrsis to get up out of his chair and open the gate for me last time. It took like a full minute. ONE full minute of me not drinking beer.

For a first timer, What is a good time to start showing up to not wait too long to get into the festival?

Usually a decent sized share at The Oaks pool after the fest. Staying there again this year.

Same situation here if anyone has any advice for an Invitational newbie.

The line moves fast and usually ID checks and tickets are scanned and you are brought into a waiting area where you can stare at the VIP ticket holders. Then a small speech and *poof* you are in. There will be a line at the beginning but that is to be expected. Don't let that dissuade you or make you consider getting there earlier. Eat a big breakfast, take the time to put on that sunscreen, and just relax....we have plenty of hours to consume adult beverages...pace yourself, especially if you plan on attending a bottleshare afterwards.

I'll be the guy in black, probably with a sunburn because I didn't reapply sunscreen, sitting down at Adelaide pool cracking open bottles afterwards. (also the friday night before....and maybe even thursday for funsies).

Yeah I was going to say. The "holding area" seems to be a way of getting people in pretty quickly. Also, you can bring a water bottle and I would highly recommend that to help you stay hydrated at least part of the day. For me, I usually carry it around for like...an hour before losing it or ditching it but at least I get some water.

Agreed. They've gotten very good at getting a large number of people in FAST. Don't worry too much about where you are in the line, especially if you don't enjoy baking in the sun.

Bottle shares in 36 hours! I still need to pack and figure out what/how much beer to bring. Part of me thinks it's a bad idea to fill a 12 bottle shipper.
