Ommegang Three Philosophers has been a favorite in the past. Just cleaned out my empty bottle collection (why the hell was I keeping them??) and there were three or four of them in there, got me to thinking I haven't had one in a few years.

It depends on what we're celebrating.

I'm expecting baby #2 any day now and can still find Parabola on the shelves here...so probably that.

A big special occasion? I'd pick up a bottle of Deus.

Still want to try that one. May have to make the jump even without any special occasions.

If I still lived in Wisconsin it would be any of the 750 ml New Glarus fruit beers.

As a matter of fact my wife is pregnant and New Glarus Serendipity is her request for a post-birth celebration beer. So that gets my vote!

The Rochefort 10 is amazingly accessible, ages well, and is great tasting...I need to pick up a few bottles on my next beer run. Cheers!

I would probably go to Anderlecht and pick up a Cantillon magnum. It's the champagne of Brussels for a reason, or head to Saint Gilles for malt attacks and pickup any proper American IPA (east coast)

I would walk down to my basement and drink a homebrewed 1896 Michelob beer.

Since there has been a number of folks posting about Quads (e.g., Rochefort 10), I have a Quad 'bubbling away' right now in my basement. Maybe pop the lid and insert a straw for some test drinking!?!

    Celebrate good times, come on!!

    Cheers!

It depends on both the occasion and the time of year. Winter is great for special Belgians or quads, and I love a good sour or farmhouse in the spring and summer.

Honestly, I prefer to celebrate by heading out to breweries or great beer bars where there are more options than at home.

Fresh hot coffee, Russells 12 year bourbon, or E & J XO brandy, or Courvoisier cognac!

    Cheers!!

A bottle from Cascade Brewing is always my celebratory beer... got two in my cellar waiting for my birthday next month.

If I had to imagine traveling more than a few city blocks for a celebratory beer, I would be happy drinking a Bavarian Club. Thankfully, I have thousands of other choices within walking distance of home.

OP I just reread this. You state you have nothing good in the cellar and no good beer stores around.

If you have no good beer stores around you and noting in the cellar, where are you getting the Pannepot from?
