    Last night's to go purchase, some Tired Hands Alien Church. Little nose of grapefruit as I poured, but a fairly pithy to pine woody bitter beer. Nice start so far.

    I'm drinking the Dunkle Weisse.
    SN with Ayinger from Germany. Very interesting dunkle take on the hefeweisse.
    This is delicious and a treat.
    Rich dark fruit, plums, prunes mingled with the classic clove/banana from the yeast.

    Good morning and happy Friday, BA's. I woke up this morning with some weight on my shoulders of decisions to be made, and it reminded me of one of my favorite sayings: "An intelligent man is sometimes forced to be drunk to spend time with fools."

    I must be the smartest man alive :confused::grinning:. It's time for the Glass of the Day Awards!

    GotD:     Sometimes The Staff likes to exercise the right to award some silly stuff. Well today, we acknowledge @jkblr for combining two of our favorite things in this proper as hell post of hockey and beer with a wonderful Molson Canandian ice skate mug. Side profile of course :wink:. Cheers and congrats!
    2nd: @LeperJim got some respectable use and some good head ( :sunglasses: ) from this outstanding Urthel beauty!
    3rd: And finally, @Prager62 wisely passed up on an overpriced Old Style thumbprint chalice for this amazing Meister Brau handled tankard. Good choice!

    Honorable mention goes out to @jkblr again for going half-proper with this Ayinger weisse glass.

    Wood.Oak and sweet malts. Dry with a little alcohol that leaves bitter but doesn't taste bitter. Dark fruit caramel. date and fig. If there is such a thing as date and fig in beer it must be in here. It's light from the oak. The hop is a crisp petal. Almonds.

    Enjoying another Doom before the heat starts cranking up. It looks like a string of 90 degree days starting tomorrow. According to the weather scribes it will be the warmest temperature in 10 months. Say yes to summer and Friday!:slight_smile:
