Apparently over 300 people already. This is insane! People are going to get here and see how crazy it is and begin formulating line cutting plans. Ha.

Hopefully, this ends up deterring folks from coming, but doubtful.

There was around 200 people by 3:30 according to a friend leaving the area.
I've sat out the last three releases now. This shit is stupid.

Would be crazy to go wait like 7-8 hours and get shut out due to unverified bottle counts . Basically why I decided not to go.

That is why I decided not to go as well. Without the bottle count, you basically had to be one of first 100 people there, which seems like you had to be there around 1am. Nuts! Congrats to all that will score though

They just posted that first 200 people in line will be getting a baseball card, and plenty of bottles to go around after that. Don't get why they are being shady with bottle amounts

So how did it end up going? Was it necessary to show up so early to score bottles or were people able to show up like 10-11 and still score bottles? Any crazyness, line cutting etc

Exactly why I didn't go. Seemed odd that only 100-200 cards will be distributed while saying there is plenty.

This was actually Wakefields best release. They actually did not let anybody without a card buy until the last card got theirs. This is the first time they have done this and even though it took longer it seemed way more fair. Props

I got there right before 6. Probably missed the 250 count by ~70 people. I got full allotment of Poppa and 6ix days. Everything else was sold out. I did get a sweet teku glass. The shirts were pretty ugly.

Yeah, it was a little bit of a madhouse getting the "tokens" (football cards), but it seemed like they were legit trying to keep folks from cutting the line. Also glad they took someone's suggestion and had two separate lines for cash & credit. Don't know why folks would pay with CC at these releases, as that line was definitely slower, but those with a "token" in the CC line didn't get shut out. All in all, I had a blast but exhausted as hell and somewhat impressed that I can power thru an 11 hour drinking sesh.

I will say compared to other releases with similar bottle counts it was stupid slow. For instance Jester King would have 2 or 3 people boxing the beer up, always having a mix of boxes ready to go (full allotment, 1 of each, ...) whereas wakefield had like 6 people boxing and it was choas. They should really think about going down the line around ~1030 and stamping a J. Wakefield stamp on peoples hands that are: of age and want to buy beer. And then they should have obvious lines for card or cash. Other than standing in line for a hour too long after they opened I have no complaints. Awesome people down here in South Florida. Very friendly bottle shares!

Edit: And last I did see a group of four that was about 10 ppl in front of ours disappear around 10 and come back with cards. They moved up the line after that. Pretty shitty but "they knew people".

I didn't make todays release, but I've been to the last Miami Madness and DFPF. It didn't seem like madhouse then. What changed with the hype?

Last DFPF release was kinda insane compared to previous releases, def not on today's level tho... but you answered your own question with "hype". Basically the small amount of hype from last year's release x the hype from IWAAD & Label Us = hundreds of nonlocals converging upon Wynwood for a non BA bottle release

Guess so. For DFPF I got in line around 6:15 and i wasn't that far in line. Seems today I would have been 250 in line.
