Sorry for the double post, but I had a few questions.

How do releases usually work on Saturdays? Go in, pick up the beer and leave? Or is there an opportunity to give this brewery more of my money for tasters or even glassware/apparel?

Also I would love to "look around." I'm a brewer myself and love to geek out at other breweries. I know it's a pretty small operation so things might be a bit different then say other Michigan beer releases. Thank you!

Not a big deal at all on the double post, besides yours had way more details! As far as releases they're super relaxed. There's definitely opportunity to hang out there. There's a few couches next to the tasting bar, which you're now able to buy full pours at. Also glassware and apparel are both available there as well. Getting shown around may be a hit or miss, depending on what Mitch is up to, but he seems really passionate about what he's doing and I'm sure if he sees that someone else is really enthusiastic about it as well, he may want to show you around. I'm looking forward to trying the Pomegranate Incipient and hopefully others that are coming down the pipeline!

This is a great overview, I will add that if you wanted to get shown around for a quick tour I would come between 2-3pm as it is a bit slower during the daily releases.

Had a great time today. Got there and enjoyed a glass of each of what they had available. I love that they list the pH of the beer on the beer menu.

Bottle pickup was super easy and everyone there was very friendly and helpful. Pomegranate Incipent is awesome.

Just wanted to point out that tickets for bottles were released yesterday. Lets sell this release out!

    1. Genetic Drift Batch 4 dry hopped with Belma and a Slovenian hop called Celia. Genetic Drift is our rustic wild saison. The combination of hops is outstanding in this beer. Spicy noble characteristics, light strawberry, and melon. The grain bill consists of Pilsner malt, Vienna, oats, rye and wheat. This Batch of Genetic Drift is definitely the most straightforward brett saison we've made to date, and we are loving it right now. It will also age very well. $15/bottle, limit 8/person.

    2. Bio-mimicry Rustic IPA dry hopped with Amarillo & Belma. The grain bill is 50% MI grown Pilsner malt, and 50% MI grown Triticale. Triticale is a hybrid of rye and wheat, and is a relatively new crop in Michigan. We are one of the first breweries in the state to use this grain! The body is dry with a nice body and spice from the triticale. The dry body balances with the citrus and strawberry from the hops. This was fermented with our house mixed culture, so it also exhibits many of the yeast characteristics of Genetic Drift. $15/bottle, limit 6/person.

    3. Common Descent Berliner Weisse aged in wine barrels with Lemon & Lime. This is a summer crusher. 3.4% abv, lightly tart, and with a refreshing zing from lemon and lime zest! This has been aging in a wine barrel for 5 months, so we recommend drinking this asap to enjoy the citrus flavors before they fade. This is extremely limited, as we only bottled one wine barrel of it. $12/bottle, limit 3/person.

What were they pouring today? I had to get my bottles and run. If it was Tangerine Incipent just lie to me and say nothing.

I will be in Grand Rapids for a conference during the first week of September but will only be in town on Wednesday night. Are there any places in town where I might find Speciation beers on tap?

7 monks or Hop Cat might have it. Both have updated tap lists online.

Next release has been announced... Anyone else as excited as I am that he has a whole fruit beer being released?? Excited for the peach and blueberry ones coming down the pipeline too!

    Can't wait!
