Nice slow Sunday today for me. First beer up, Triple C Brewing Baby Maker. I love a beer with a good name and I figure it's better to drink this one early in the day

    Cheers BAs

Maybe not the most refreshing beer on a humid 90° day, but I'm just following the directions on the bottle.:sunglasses:

Not sure if this is that much better than regular Bomb that it should be $3 a bottle more.

Brouwerij De Troch is known for two things: 1) For the brewing of some very weird and unusual lambics (usually under the brand name "Chapeau) flavored with ingredients such as Banana, Chocolate, Lemon, Mirabelle and Tropical Fruits, just to name a few. 2) For the hideously ugly and cheap-looking labels of their products.

The beer I'm showing here is a limited edition De Troch Peach Lambic. It's not from the overly sweet Chapeau series but it's still sweeter than your average fruit lambic (even compared to, say, Lindemans). Nonetheless it's tasty and funky enough to be both refreshing and complex.

Last time I had real turtle soup was Sunday brunch at Commander's Palace. Can't get there today so this will have to do . . .

Attractive light gold color with thick white cap and good lacing.

Brewer says the aroma carries subtle peach and passion fruit touches but both are slightly beyond my reach. I get more floral with hints of spice and something more vegetal than fruit.

Taste is simple, straight forward hops the same as I described above. Still don't get the peach but there is something rounded about the flavor that is passion fruit like so the official description isn't wrong. Like the Brewer says, it's subtle. Finish is clean and crisp without any residual bitterness in the aftertaste.

It's amazing that a beer can have this much flavor and depth at only 3.9% ABV
