I got there roughly at 6 and was about 320 in line. The bottle shares were amazing, it was a great time hanging out with people there and trying lots of beers. Only managed to grab BP and 6 Days but oh well. I feel like part of the hype came from people posting over Facebook saying they were getting there at midnight and everyone scrambled..

Could you have walked up around 11-12 and purchased big poppa at least or would you have had to get there much sooner

the "hype" was wakefield originally saying the first 100 people were guaranteed allotments. had no one said that it wouldn't have been 300 deep before 6am

That doesn't make too much sense when you realize that like 65% of the line was folks from out of state. Hell, the first 20 or so people that lined up on Friday night were from out of state. I'd say it's less hype on JWB's part and more about FOMO.

People were proudly proclaiming they were going to be arriving at 10PM the night before.

    14 hour wait for beer.

    But it isn't beer anymore.

It is now rent money for people and has turned into a shitshow.

I found half the people who were there didn't even know that all of the stouts have been on draft for an entire month, or even seem to care very much.

I sat my chair down at 8AM - there were only 20 people behind me when the line started moving at noon, making it clear there must have been at least 100 people who drove by, saw the line, and went home.

While the shred of dignity I have let won't afford me to attend any future releases like this, I do think the envelope should be pushed as far as it can just to see how far people will go.

You heard it here first -- you are going to see rented RVs lining 24th street for the next release.

Quit a few have gotten there 4 previously.

But it was not about that "first 100"....is what he was getting. Fomo from the WakeFest variants

I'm under the impression that you're blaming JWB for hyping up their beer by saying they were going to guarantee 100 full allotments (and not however many actual allotments they had).

I'm blaming all the folks flying in from out of state in order to flip or use bottles for trade bait.

30/70? But in all fairness, if you have a business, aren't you supposed to generate excitement in your product? Jon comes off as a bit of a narcissist to me (how many labels are gonna have this dude's face on them?) and to others, but I can't say that I wouldn't enjoy seeing folks line up for 12+ hours for the chance to buy something I created or that I wouldn't "hype" up a release in order to generate excitement around an event.

I can, however, confirm that I would not fly out of state and camp out for the sole purpose of buying beer.

I was bummed to see Big Poppa on at the brewery all week only to be off the list on Friday. As stated previously itt, though, the 6 Days of Dade was killer and a nice consolation

Just posted on his personal account that bottles of a DFPF/Miami Madness blend are dropping soon. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if it is a surprise release
