Someone's got to get the party started I guess. Nothing too special, just a regular Leffe.

A co-worker brought this Helles Lager back from the Czech Republic. I love the malt character of the Czech beers.

A light refreshing beverage after logging some miles in the hot sun and escalating humidity. Summer is here with a vengeance and I'm loving it! My plants on the other hand.:slight_frown: Time to get some water on these thirsty guys and enjoy this mildly tart thirst quencher from Casey in Colorado. Cheers to the week ahead.....

    Having a Benediktiner Weissbier.
Until 2011 this beer was produced in the Klosterbrauerei Ettal. Because of high demand it’s now produced (so that is since 2011) by Licher Privatbrauerei Jhring Melchior. But still under the supervision of the brewers from Klosterbrauerei Ettal.
    Cheers!

Starting the day off with this interesting brew. A Pineapple stout aged in cognac and whisky barrels. Lots of wood notes with the spirits, alongside the roasty zesty pineapple stout base, with some grassy moss-like notes thrown in as well. Takes some getting used to, but overall not bad. Cool little 8.5 oz bottle too. Cheers!

Sitting at Red Robin, waiting for my burger, enjoying an Alaskan Amber. I've had it many many times but have never reviewed it. Delicious as always.

Also, one other thing: I said yesterday in NBS that I've Never had a wheatwine before I reviewed my new beer. Looking back at my beers I discovered that I have had a wheatwine once before. Sorry for my mistake.

    Enjoy your beers.

One of my single favorite beers. And im sure there's better representation of style but this is my jam. Smooth, herbally astringent bitterness in the head (think bitterness as in oregano, arugala, not like actual herb flavor) bittersweet honey character. >5 % abv I can really put them away. It brings me to a happy place of simple beers and a break from so many. I couldn't ask more of a beer. Still one of my favorites. Cheers.

    Going with a Cajun theme today . . .

Aroma is primarily of hops, specifically pine and something vegetal/floral.

Flavor is hop driven and has greater depth than the scent implies. The underlying malt is relatively silent letting hops do all the talking and they speak with several tongues. On palate the hops take on more citrus (grapefruit) and fruit (tropical) while pine steps back a bit but remains on stage. Finish is clean and the aftertaste has a refreshing hop bitterness.

Brewers description says,"brewed with lemon peels and dry hopped with Cascade, Amarillo, Centennial and Simcoe for a hoppy aroma of citrus, fruit and pine". Well, they got the pine part but perhaps less of the tree and more of the fruit would've made a better balance. It is after all being marketed as an IPA so hop forward is expected but what they've done here is a session sort of brew with a full house dose of hops.
