So I feel like this batch or this can or whatever of BHA is missing some of the brightness and pop it had previously. Its very heavy and syrupy almost reminds me of an all citra Navaja. The aroma is on point and it tastes great but its definitely a little different.

Or maybe I'm crazy and its the same.

I just opened another can tonight and I think it's even more similar than I thought to last year. I definitely don't find it heavy or syrupy at all - it tastes very crisp and relatively light. It's so hard for me to remember exactly what it tasted like last year, but this is still pretty tasty.

Nah, this is what I was saying too, and BHA is one of my all-time favorite beers, so I like to think I have a handle on it.

I think I figured out the issue, and it's one that some of the NE IPAs have--I poured most of a can of BHA into a glass yesterday, and had a sip. The beer was clear and the sip was crisp with some bright citra. I was happy, because it tasted different than the last two cans I had. I then finished pouring the can into the glass, and sediment or yeast filled the glass (looked like a cloud, and in turn made the entire beer slightly cloudy looking). Next sip was slightly fuller-bodied, and the hops were a little reserved.

Just like someone...maybe Kimmich from Alchemist(?) recommended, I'm thinking my preferred way to drink the beer may be to let what has settled to the bottom of the can stay there, at least until I'm done with most of the beer.

As much as I enjoy the typically dry finish of Daisy Cutter and its variants, I also appreciate that BHA *doesn't* finish that way.

Gotta say, as a NH guy who drinks a ton of Alchemist, Trillium and the like, this batch of BHA really hits the spot for me. I thought the batches that they put into bombers were lacking but the cans have been spot on. My only regret is that they did not go back to the original can artwork! Thanks to my Chicago friends who sent me some (you know who you are!).

Half Acre smashes another home run with the sour today. 2/2 from these guys. Going to suck when you actually will have to wait in line.

Since @Jaycase gave me shit for posting this in another thread:

Based on the terms used (flake oats, English yeast, full bodied, based on Juice man, etc.), I'm wondering if this is a foray into NE-style stuff?
