Starting this one again as nobody seems to be picking up the slack...

Same brewery, different ABV. Leffe rituel 9.

    Cheers...

Near a tree by a river
There's a hole in the ground
Where an old man of Aran
    Goes around and around
And his mind is a beacon
In the veil of the night
For a strange kind of fashion
    There's a wrong and a right
But he'll never, never fight over you

It's not hotter than their Carolina reaper beer but it numbs your mouth from the heat......

I swear I'm tasting Diacetyl or something overly sweet, i know PU is a prime example of a clean beer but I believe these were mishandled in a way based off where I bought them.

    Cheers.

I don't normally post what I drank last night, unless I also have a fresh beer in hand now. So, full disclosure: this is from last night. It was an exceptionally long and challenging work day, followed by a challenging evening, and getting on to post that late wasn't the right answer.

I found I have more '15 than '16 Narwhal at this point (and some '14 hanging around), so I decided to even out the stash a touch. This was super creamy and smooth; a lot of the harsh bitterness has mellowed out. I love this beer fresh, and I love it aged.

Only post for today, BAs; see you tomorrow evening!

One of my British beverage of choice. Enjoy.
More than anything, honesty is appreciated. It's fine to me. Didn't have time to post last night but saying hi this morning, good. Cheers and looking forward to see you in the now.

I really shouldn't, with a full day of home improvements ahead of me, but it does...have coffee in it so that should balance out any nap-like tendencies of an early beer. Cheers all! See you tomorrow, most likely.

Our son has gotten up and walked the dogs the past few mornings, and I've been sleeping in! I'm going to a bottle share tonight, so I'm starting out easy this morning:

The shelves are a bit thin this week so I grabbed a mixed six the other day for some revisiting . . .

Discovered my take on this one is the same as when I wrote the following review. I think locally we're being plagued with old stock.

Dark reddish brown with white cap and decent lacing.

Aroma of caramely malt with a light whif of floral hops.

Taste is a simple combination of sweet malt, hint of toffee and whisp of hops. Can't say what variety of hops but there are some in there. Mildly rich if that makes any sense.

    Rather thin texture.

Overall it's not bad for a universally (almost) available brew that's been around long enough to ride on a reputation. Acquaintances who tell me they like this also carry memories of having been introduced to it on draft or very fresh, neither condition of which is available locally. So these are my thoughts subject to revision and extension if I ever come across a better example in the future.

Weihenstephaner 1516. Finally. I wanted to try this unfiltered Kellerbier for sometime. Not that this a spectacular beer, great beer it is however.
Nice and refreshing. Enjoying it now outside in the evening sun.
    Cheers all!

Taking respite in the woods from the blazing sun and humidity with a 9.4% beer after taking the pup for a very short walk. It's time to bring out the kiddie pool for her to cool off and have some fun. I don't care what the calendar says, it's summer around here. Cheers gang!

Pilsner Urquell is supposed to have a slight dactyl taste. They brew it with a certain level of acceptable dactyl flavors. Someone who knows more about the brewing process could explain more but I seem to recall reading that the acceptable level is .12 ppm.

Edit: I found the article where I read the ".12 ppm"

If you ask me the level of diacetyl you are talking about is a like a smooth sensation more than a taste of full blown butter. It does not bring the beer down at all. I don't know anything about the brewing but the flavor is not obtrusive in that beer and it does have it. If you get a beer that has too much you'll not want to drink it at all.
