This is super duper appreciated. I have some BCBS that I acquired in trades recently, but have yet to try it, and have never tried it in the past. So, would love to try it on tap and be able to otherwise not feel so pressured to open a bottle.

    Super stoked.

Careful now! All the HF fans are gonna come out & attack you for having an opinion that would go against 401Karm's wishes.

Ah never mind I found if on Facebook. Not to ask a stupid question but is the bourbon country that will be there the same as what is sold or something different for lizardville? I'm kind of confused

What a bunch of sensitive babies; Lord help us if we deviate just a bit.

Back to good ol, boring, hyper-regulated/moderated BA...

My first BCBS was on draft last December at the brewery in Chicago and it was pretty much life changing haha. '16 BCBS bottles I got afterward were also fantastic, but if you really enjoy BBA stouts, there's not an experience I've found better that BCBS on draft.

As for the "Special Barrels for Lizardville".

BCBS is generally made up of multiple barrels of the beer, blended together. Some aged as little as 9-10 months and some as long as 12. They basically create the best balance overall by doing this. What I *think* this event will be, is 4 specific BCBS barrels, none of them blended, so you can taste the subtle differences between each individual barrel. Think of it like a Single Barrel version of a good bourbon. Pretty cool IMO if that's the idea here.

    How those beer reviews goin?

    Oh wait...

Seriously though, is it that fucking hard for people to refrain from making snarky comments, specifically shitting on a brewery? There's plenty of shit that irks me about almost every brewery I've been to, but they're all just trying to make beer and have people enjoy it. You'll never see me shitting on a brewery like that, especially one trying to make it here in Ohio.

Snarky is subjective and it's fairly easy to ignore a post or even a user if you wish. Censorship and moderation is generally heavy handed and leads to uninteresting content. I'm down to using this thread almost exclusively, and once that's gone so am I.

Is there anything that prevents this thread from just being called "The Ohio Beer Thread"?

Of course, if we did that, I'm sure the mods would insist that we then have to roll-in the Jackie O's, HH, and Wolf's Ridge threads into one.

So to actually get back on track, while shopping at Ollie's in Dayton yesterday, I found a new to Ohio beer from Cameron's Brewing in Ontario, Canada called Where The Buffalo Roam. The label on the pint can said it's a barleywine aged in oak bourbon barrels.

Best part though? If it is BA, it's the cheapest I've seen for that kind of beer at 3.99! per can.

I honestly don't know why it matters. This site is intended to inform, and hopefully also offer some entertainment value. There is no reason I can think of where individuals need to be so serious about beer.

And fyi, we used to have an Ohio beer thread and it got nuked in favor of these multi-thread variants. It's goofy to me how this joint runs.

Speaking of Buffalo (not the city) I thought Tallgrass was supposed to be in Ohio now. I still haven't see any. Really enjoyed Buffalo Sweat, and was looking forward to some of those variants

We used to have Tallgrass here, and it got axed from distro. I'd heard they were coming back, but I haven't seen any of their stuff. Their 8-Bit Pale is just as solid as Buffalo Sweat is.

Did you try it yet? If so, any good? I saw Crafted post that they had it, but that isn't close to me. I want to say a few places near Cleveland may have gotten it but I haven't seen it at my normal spot yet.

I'd love to give that a try. The last New to Ohio, from Canada I had was Nicklebrook Kentucky Bastard and that shit was fantastic and a steal as well from a pricing standpoint.
