I am just starting to get more into IPAs. Initially I did not like the style very much and shied away from it. After having very few IPAs over the past year or so I decided to revisit the style. I am not sure what has changed but all of a sudden IPAs are tasting really good to me. Maybe my palate has changed or something. I'd really appreciate any suggestions. I live in northeastern Wisconsin. Here are some of the IPAs I have tried and like recently. I will include my ratings.

Tropical Torpedo Tropical IPA - Sierra Nevada 4.13
    Maximus - Lagunitas 4.25
    PseudoSue - Toppling Goliath 4.22
Voodoo Ranger Juicy Mandarina IPA - New Belgium 4.29

    Thanks
    Andy

According to the brewer, pseudoSue is an American Pale Ale, not an IPA (although, IMHO, it is really an IPA). Try King Sue or SOSUS for one of their better DIPAs or Pompeii for one of their better IPAs. Your problem will be getting them fresh.

Sue is a pale ale, I don't know Wisconsin distro well, but you can't go wrong with TG bombers. You might be seeing hop smack soon and it's great. King sue and sosus are hard to find but incredible, Pompeii should be available more, often and it's very good.

Some standard IPAs that hopefully you can get.

    Founders centennial and day IPA
    Bells two hearted
    Stone ruination
    Stone IPA
    Try other new Belgium IPAs.

I guess my next question is what IPAs did you have that you didn't like?

Also with IPAs you have to make sure they are fresh. If you picked some off the shelf at a bottle shop that have been sitting around awhile last year they had probably lost their luster in hop flavor profile.

Wisconsin, hmm... try a Revolution or Half Acre IPA (and see if that floats your boat). You probably also get Surly IPAs (Furious) and the probably better Todd the Axeman. Have fun man, asking about IPAs around here is like throwing blood in the water around sharks so I'm sure you'll get a good response.

Can you also give us a few that you've tried and didn't like? Would help us narrow down some recommendations

I would just head down to your local bottle shop and get singles of various IPAs. There are so many you should have no issue finding some you enjoy. I would go local also, fresh is best for IPA so head over to some local places and sample the goods.

Although some popular beers are not everyone's cup of tea, you're going to have to search hard to find another person who doesn't like Two Hearted. Keep it in mind and try it again in the future. It's a classic.

Short's is masterful at brewing IPAs and DIPAs so when you see something from them, try it. Those in the Specialty category in this 2017 schedule link are typically more popular and in greater demand than their flagship IPA, Huma Lupa Licious IPA, but that one is a good one too. https://www.shortsbrewing.com/2017 release-schedule/

EDIT: Monitor this thread in the Great Lakes forum and you'll get a sense when these beers are released and the ease or difficulty of finding them. https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/shorts-brewing-releases-updates.415595/

I'll second todd the axeman. Thats the best beer that showed up on shelves during GABF last year.

I like Lagunitas Hop Stoopid a lot. Reasonably priced, and available. SN celebration in the Fall months. And I've gotta agree with Surly's Todd The Axe Man...love it. There's a million out there, have fun, and mix it up with other styles, to avoid the dreaded hop burnout.
