Relatively new, so apologies if this is a weird or dumb question. Really digging the hazy NE Style IPA's lately. Fruity and citrusy variants. For example, Monkish. Eager to try Julius as well. Problem is, these cans are incredibly hard to come by and it's a rare treat when I get one in my hands.

Does anyone know of any more common off the shelf hazy IPA's that aren't as rare but still great tasting? Just looking for a weekday sipper without dipping into the rare stash. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Old Nation brewing here in Michigan is starting to become more common on the shelves in my area. I can get M43, Boxer and Green Stone regularly. That being said they are decent, but not as good as treehouse, but they are easy to get. I live in Michigan, but it seems Trillium beers are not hard to get either and Trillium is top notch beer.

There are a lot brewers doing this style in every region, and California is no exception. I don't know about finding them on shelves, but it seems like depending on where you are, you can easily go and fill growlers of these things at many different breweries. Where in California are you?

Sadly, most stereotypically New England style IPAs have not yet reached any sort of distribution. They are becoming huge, but due to their novel nature and volatile freshness status, they're usually released brewery-only.

However, there are some excellent IPAs that have become widely available that are close to NE style, if not already there. Get some Lagunitas Born Yesterday, or Born Again Yesterday, which is out now. That beer is hazy, juicy, tropical, delicious!

Knee deep has a NE IPA in pint cans out. Now I don't know if it is as good as the ones your naming but it should be on shelves in California.

Firestone Walker has a "unfilitered DIPA" on the shelves as well.

So far, every contributor to this thread is not from the Pacific region . . . was this thread moved from a different forum?

Anyway, the easy answer is that there really aren't "off the shelf hazy IPA's that aren't as rare but still great tasting." There just aren't, not yet. Here in CA, many of the hazy cans aren't "great," though not for lack of trying. In NorCal, Fieldwork is the best I've had, and, in SoCal, I personally think Monkish is overrated, especially if you've had a lot of actual NEIPAs (from the NE). Occasionally, someone hits one out of the park (Highland Park's Cloud Party, for example), and others can be very good, but few are great. And none, really, are shelf beers. One last thing: UNFILTERED DOES NOT EQUAL HAZY. Sorry, it's a pet peeve of mine when people say so.

Go to Trader Joe's and look for some Accumulated Knowledge from Modern Times, that's about as close as you'll get right now.

Karl Strauss (in Rancho Bernardo) had a really tasty NE hazy style IPA called Boat Shoes that they brewed in house. I was able to get a growler fill of it which was nice.

my recommendation to you would be Orderville by Modern Times, Most Liquor stores will carry it, not to hard to find, and a great juicy beer.

I wouldn't call Oderville "hazy" or "juicy"...

I second Modern Times' Accumulated Knowledge recommendation (available at Trader Joe's only, IIRC):

I'll second the Brouwerij West comment up above. At least for SoCal.
And for the record, the Born Yesterday and Born Again Yesterday batches that were brewed in SoCal were not hazy.

If you live in the SF Bay, there are some stores that will carry Alvarado St, Mikkeller SD, New Glory, Brouwerij West, and sometimes Track 7. Being able to pick up Alvarado St Contains No Juice off the shelf while shopping for groceries beats the madness that occurs in another part of the state.

I don't think Orderville is either - it's a good West Coast IPA though.

Also, OP was asking for hazy.

What about Mikkeller Windy Hill? That seems to be readily available and cheaper than others IIRC.

Southern California. 20 minutes or so from Disneyland (Orange County Area).
Definitely going to check out http://www.brouwerijwest.com - I've seen our local store get some recent cans. And will also try out all of the other suggestions too. I know the NEIPA style is very trendy right now. Just (personally) feels like a refreshing summertime sipper versus the super hop forward flavors. Thanks to all who took the time to reply
