Couldn't resist... The wife can't drink carbonated beverages so she sticks to liqueur or wine when we go out or are drinking at home... I guess the only time I drink beer with other people that are drinking beer is when I'm with my band mates or when I stop at the tavern after fishing.

 

Going to a group run tonight that starts and ends at a brewery. So tonight, I'll be drinking with people. From there, I may go home and enjoy a beer on my own, or I may go over to a friends to drink on their back porch. Tomorrow? We'll see. I do enjoy sitting out on the screened-in porch with some tunes on low volume, while I consume a new beer.

I enjoy both settings. Although, I'm much less likely to order something heavy, or rare when I'm drinking in a more social setting.

I limit my beer drinking to 4 days per week, simply for health reasons (body weight, and to give my liver a little break here and there). So, I typically drink beer alone two nights during the work week and Friday/Saturday. Sometimes on Sundays if I don't have a big Monday ahead of me.

I'm usually drinking in good company which are the folks here on BA.

 

I'm single, no roommate, work a night shift (off at 1 a.m.) and *really* like beer, so my drinking beer ratio is probably 80/20 alone/with others.

That ratio doesn't reflect my preference -- sharing beer with friends and family is always a blast. But at least when I drink alone, I'm guaranteed to be in excellent company.

Call me selfish but I like to select the setting, music, glassware, TV channel, sports game, videogame, etc. At home by myself I can drink and do what I want.

I do, however, have my usual Friday night get-together with my neighbors when we pop around to a different local place each week having beers and snacks or dinner. The only problem with that is that if there's a good beer on tap I can't review it ~ the bar or restaurant itself is usually enough of a distraction, but being with a group of people makes it almost impossible.

 

With others, because the voices in my head are great company.

Seriously, mostly alone, sometimes with the Mrs, and as many Thursday beer shares with @oach and the other guys in our group as possible.
