A person who is very close to me believes that drinking alone automatically makes you an alcoholic.....needless to stay, it's a spicy topic of conversation.

 

Gathering folks spontaneously as a married with kids person isn't likely to happen as often as I like to have a beer. Don't mind drinking Thorogood style. Even though I do invite Johnny, Jack and Jim occasionally, rarely with my bud Wiser though....

 

I find that as I get older I drink alone more due to time. When I was younger I lived at the bar or parties, it was just the routine I was in for a long long time. Now being married and kids I find that I just don't have time to go out as much so I drink at home a lot more. I don't find any issue with it, its just a fact of life, most of us are busy and you get a few hours at night to sip a few and unwind. Or if I am doing yard items or fixing things I drink, etc. But I still try and find time to meet a buddy at the bar or hit a pub for a few and watch a game, just keeps me sane LOL.

I drink alone all the time. I work hard, get my chores done and enjoy great beer afterwards. Oh my. I must be an alcoholic.

 

I'm an extreme introvert, so I drink alone often. I do make an effort to drink out of my house with others though, I need to do it more.

Both...but mainly drink alone. The introvert in me prefers it that way.

 

I'll drink beer with almost anybody, any where. But. 90% of the time I drink alone. None of my friends drink craft anyways. Tis life.

 

Alone usually. Once in a while we go out with friends, and once or twice a year I drink with hundreds at a beer fest. Drinking alone make it a bit more challenging to polish off a high ABV bomber.

 

Mostly alone just because of circumstances. I like to try a new beer after work and everything is done so that means I'm home alone. Occasionally with friends and family but it gets harder and harder to find time to socialize

Mostly alone, because I live alone and don't have many beer-drinking friends who live nearby... plus, going out to a bar/brewery and hanging out with a bunch of random strangers doesn't appeal to me at all (crowd-related anxiety attacks which tend to happen mostly when surrounded by strangers will do that to you.)

If I'm not alone, I'll usually be sharing a beer with my sister during visits, sometimes with my mom or dad joining in too (mom will try a sip or two if we're at my sister's place, occasionally will ask for a full sample-size pour if we stumble across something she actually likes; dad will usually have a Guinness or whichever European lager is available if we're out at a restaurant, or he'll sometimes try a local brewery's beer if available, mostly if it's a stout/porter, dark lager, or English ale -- not a fan of American-hoppy beers or those with fruit added, even as little as the orange peel in witbiers and such.)

I pretty much only have one beer-drinking friend that I see every now and then, but on the rare occasion when we do get together we usually go visit whichever local brewery is closest, leaning toward ones we haven't been to before if possible.

 

most of the time I drink by myself, don't get me wrong I enjoy having a drink with others, but I find I best take in the complexities of a great beer, by myself, with the tv and all distractions shut out
