First time having this via the can. Couldn't pass it up in the pint format. Haven't had this in over 3 years. Still one of the best Imperial Stouts out there.

 

Shinshu is aging really well. Still delicious!

 

I can usually visualize anything but my mind is completely blocking this one. Total block shutdown. It's a blank canvas.

 

It's amazing how fast these beers turn into snow globe beers. This can't be more than 6 weeks old. Still tastes great though.

Great fucking tune.

 

I think I might call it a night after this one.

I started down the rabbit hole of revisiting them a month or two ago, and there really seems to be no end . It started as I was digging through old sixties garage stuff, and they just fit right in. Cream of the crop, really. And before you know it, I'm going through all of the albums chronologically- lots of great stuff that just sticks with you.

 

The elephants will help you drink it. I am in total agreement as to the amazing beer.

Thanks for posting, Tongo. The first time I saw the Kinks was in 1979. I was a freshman at Bucknell and they played at nearby Bloomsburg State. It was the first show of the tour and my friends and I sat in the second row. They played a lot of songs from the "middle" period, as well as songs from their Misfits album. It was a great show! I've always been a big Kinks fan.

 

Here's what's in the glass now, as I'm starting to finally watch The Magicians on Netflix-

could be more pungent, but has a nice tropical/herbal thing going for it.

Going back to my last post, another rabbit hole that I'm simultaneously involved in is listening to all of the versions of Louie Louie that I can find, because I eventually plan on making a set out of the best 2 dozen or so. Cuz that's just how I roll. Right now this one's in my top spot:
