Haha yes, just speculating. Still new to the whole can release thing.

I really couldn't agree more. In addition, it's not exactly easy to get there if your coming from far off in NJ.

I find it frustrating living 15 minutes from the brewery I can only imagine if you had to like plan a whole trip around it.

Yeah if it's not tonight and I wanted to go tomorrow we'll have to cancel our res at the Ferm, my wife will have to switch her plans (she has to know in like an hour or she can't), we'd have to switch the plans for the kids, and I'd have to switch my game group night (normally Thursday, and that will screw up the plans of five other dudes) plus I'd have to change the time I leave work tomorrow instead of today but my teams would need to know soon.

Would normally just wait a week but I wanna get beers for my vacation. :slight_frown:

Well, at least you have an understanding of how the Tired Hands folks think.

    Cheers!

Plan B: go to your local beer retailer(s) and buy the freshest hoppy beer that you enjoy drinking.

    Cheers!

Think it's pretty safe to say it's Thursday at this point. Besides the fact that they said it with the cheesy "sun cycle" comment, it's almost noon and I don't think they've ever waited until noon to announce a same day release.

They have done noon announcements in the past for milkshake releases, but the sun cycle thing does make it sound like tomorrow

I would argue that the late announcements actually costs them money. As someone who is 2 hours away, I go to a can release maybe every 2-3 months at the most. If they had more of a regular release schedule, or announced more in advance, I would definitely go to more releases. Now I realize that the cans will sell out within a day (or two in some cases) whether I go or not, but when I do go there I tend to make the most of my trip and eat a nice meal at the Ferm or Cafe, obviously sample some beers, fill a couple growlers...and now that there's a General Store maybe pick up a bottle or two, or some cans. Not to mention I usually also meet up with friends who live closer by and otherwise wouldn't have gone there without me suggesting it, so they are also spending their money there. I have to think that there are a lot of people in that same position. The guy who lives close by and hits most of the releases is probably less likely to spend more money on things other than cans.

And this is not me complaining - while it is annoying, I couldn't care less how they do it...it's Jean's business and he should run it however he wants. I will continue to go every few months when it works out, and if I can't, oh well. Of course for all we know the reason they do it this way is because they actually want to keep the crowds down.

Can you please explain this to me? It seems to me that with few exceptions they always seem to draw a good size crowd and for those releases that have great trade potential they have outrageously long lines.

It does not seem to me that late announcements keep the crowd sizes down.

    Cheers!

I haven't been to a release since last year. Are chairs still allowed and what time do I need to get there to put a chair out if they are?

Maybe they're only getting 600 people as opposed to 1,000.

I would probably go every Wed/Thurs if they didn't announce anything and I'd expect little to no line. I live less than 30 minutes away. I'd also grab some drafts, Ourison, and some food. I would wager there are more people like me then people willing to travel 1-2 hours on a monthly basis.

The issue is not how they announce releases. The issue is supply. Lucky for me there is plenty of great and fresh beer in the area.

Highly recommend glancing at the entitled whining on the Insta post if anyone is looking for a chuckle over their lunch break.

Today would have been pretty great for a can release though, this weather is pretty much perfect. Tomorrow is supposed to be like 10 degrees warmer. At least they aren't calling for rain yet.

It's that congested area and the other businesses they have to hear it from. Pretty much the only attempt they can make where they can say "Hey, we did all we could to not make it a complete clusterfuk like our planned Sunday releases always are." OR.... they hate everyone and die laughing every week at the Instagram meltdowns.

I imagine Jean and his entourage chilling somewhere, throwing back some fresh cans, enjoying some cannabis, and laughing hysterically at what transpires on social media. It's gotta be a weekly tradition by now haha.

As a tribute, they should do a new beer called something like "Social Meltdown", and double dry hop the living hell out of it with the most bitter hops they can get their hands on. lol

    Hmm.

Now I'm wondering if it's actually just gonna be Sunday. They're just promoting some food event at the Cafe...

For the last few months, if not longer, they've typically done Weds or Thurs releases. It'll be tomorrow. They're just being ultra stupid about teasing it, IMO.
