This will be entertaining. After looking at those comments from people all the way across the country, I kind of hope they do something where you have to sign up in person. Just to watch the world burn.

A road trip or a plane ticket is no deterrent for determined shitlords.

    Seriously, it isn't.

I hope that previous Keepers are able to resume their memberships, but understand if they're going to do things differently.

Anchorage Brewing's recent post about their upcoming A Deal With the Devil release was similar and blew me away with shitlords from as far away as Florida talking about buying plane tickets.

Unfortunately, I know you're right. I'm afraid it's simply a reflection of the disparity between the price dG charges for their beer, and what their beer goes for on various secondary/gray markets.

    It's depressing, but not surprising.

Online sales and proxies? Cmon guys, you're probably opening yourself up to the same issues you ran into last time. But whatever, as long as we keep seeing consistent retail distribution in Seattle I don't really care.

I drink plenty of Texas beer. I can't like Oregon beer too? Is that against the rules?

Of course you can, you just teed that one up for him with your avatar. If he hadn't haiku'd you, surely someone else would have.

Yeah, if it wasn't obvious from my use of both haiku and a smiley, it was just a playful joke, and nothing personal or serious was intended. Forgive me, I just couldn't help but see the irony in the first guy rushing to post here looking for a trustee displaying that particular avatar.

Also, there's something about the tenor set by the OP on this thread that inclines one to keep the spirit light around here. It's better that way...

Am I missing something with the membership? 8 bottles, one glass for $260? Assuming the class costs $20 (which seems high) thats still $30 a bottle? Am I missing some value here? (aside from the member only bottles that people will lose their minds over...I get that will happen)

This caught me off guard a bit as well. I assumed due to the issues they had last go around that they would really try and keep this simple. I'm just glad I'm not the one who has to deal with these people. Good luck to the brave souls at dG.

Their FB post says they have an employee whose job is to deal with all of this stuff, so I'm sure they're prepared for whatever people are gonna throw at them. Good luck, guys.

Guided tours with special tastings which I think are included.

I dunno. I can't justify the cost but I'm sure it will sell out immediately.

I confess I'm puzzled as well. The pricing just doesn't seem to match up with what I've always perceived to be dG's philosophy when it comes to marketing their beer.

I'm sure this won't have much of an impact on the current demand for their beer, and I agree that memberships will sell out instantly. Maybe there's more to this than meets the eye, but personally, I'm a bit disappointed by what I'm reading.

I agree. As someone who has been a dG supporter since year one, but does not have the same amount of disposable beer money as some, I feel fairly priced out of this membership. Which is both frustrating and disappointing. Of course they have the right to charge whatever they want for their beer, and more power to them I guess.
