This will very likely be the craziest release OH has had to date.

Woah, why? Who's dying for a 10 percent triple IPA in July?

This is most likely going to be the worst release in Other Half history. I expect nothing less than a shit show.

2 collabs with Monkish one with Trillium and Monkish. They are two of the most hyped sought after breweries in the county. Rare collabs that will probably never be brewed again with super high trade/resale value leads to an inane release.

How is an insane OH release compare to an insane Tired Hands release? How fast does stuff sell out? Three hours? Two?

Tough to compare. This release will have more allotments than normal and the line at Other Half generally moves at a snails pace. At Tired Hands it's just cans in and out. At Other Half you can by cans, glassware and tshirts, that generally slows things down. However, I would expect this to be sold out by noon, so two hours.

In general though most release at OH will have a beer or two last well into the afternoon maybe even Sunday with only the most hyped ones selling out around 12-1.

I'm Interested to see how this one plays out. Blowin up the Spot was one collab and we got there at 6 and there were a few hundred on line already. This one will likely be a total shitfest. Good luck getting there at noon, lol.

These beers may be better, the same or worse than any other beer OH puts out. But one thing is for sure they will be 100 times more hyped than any beer they have ever made. You are picking a hell of a time to do your first OH trip. Do yourself a favor, resist the hype and go on a more "normal" Saturday.

Plus there is supposed to be a teku glass released, correct? Anyone know what the design will be? Taters? Fully Loaded?

While I agree with the masses this will be the worst line in the history of NYC can releases, but there are a couple things to think about here for those on the fence to head in early.

    1) 2 of 3 cans are double batches. Important because the double batches have VERY rarely sold out before early afternoon, and that has been at a case limit. These are @ 4 4s limit, so expect them to last longer.
    2) Last Monkish Collab was not nearly worth the hype. Sorry, BUTS was mediocre at best. It was really boozy, and not nearly on par with some of OH's own higher abv offerings (3rd Anny crushed it).
    3) Monkish's last collab for an APA (Jean Hands) was also mediocre at best. It was a worse version of Hop Hands IMO.
    4) Last OH/Trill collab was terrible. Ok, thats just a lie. Like Whoa was spectacular.

I hope they kill it on all accounts though, just like to temper expectations with past realities.

This is true for everything except Like Whoa which was a trippple batch and sold out around 12-1230. Of course that was also the only beer being released so more people maxed out.

Pros - lower limits, a couple of double batches

Cons - Trillium, Monkish, people wanting the full potato "set", tekus and tshirts

I think this would be a good day for the 1130 crowd to make an attempt as long as they don't get their hopes too high. I already have bowed out, I think. As soon as I saw there was a 0% chance I get the APA that kind of killed it for me (I fucking hate TIPAs and I especially hate that they are popular)

Agree to disagree on the latter items. For many of us I think it is very relevant, but surely the hype drive won't ward of droves of people from flocking outside. If BUTS and Jean Hands were killer (or even above average), I might be more inclined to actually get in line. In general I don't wait any more and prefer to just go when there is minimal to no line, City Slickers was an exception because prior experience does matter to me for many of these. Surely others think the same way.

You underestimate the hype. A very small % of people like you may not have liked the collabs you mentioned AND would stay away because of it. The only small sliver of hope for people who don't want to wait in line is the 4 4 packs limit and the double batch. Even that is not likely to overcome the masses who will come from far and wide to get these beers.

Wouldn't all these issues go away if OH just lowered the limits even further? I like OH but just think they have a different approach to customer service of which I have never been particularly fond. I think we all know places that handle much bigger volumes but use low limits to get the beer to more people.
