How come BA doesn't do like FB so I can upload directly from my phone?

I use DropBox still. I have not had any issues that I know about sharing photos here (the only place I actually do that). I just have to remember to change the 0 to a 1 at the end of the URL (or whatever it is) that creates the link. I have not tried any of the other photo hosting sites, and I'll be damned if I will pay for the privilege of using one, so PhotoBucket wouldn't even be an option if DropBox gives me fits.

I tried photophuckit but couldn't stand the ads popping up left, right and center and quit before the issues others had about posting images. Still haven't decided what to try next.

I've never been able to get my google photos to work on this site. Are there perhaps any toggles or sharing settings I need to fiddle with that you know of?

Meefmoff, it isn't the most seamless photo sharing. But once you get it down it is easy. Open your photos in any browser. Click the image to maximize it. You will see black all around the photo. Then right click on the image and select properties. In the middle of the window you will see the photo's address URL. You need to copy and paste this link. It is usually very long and you will need to scroll down while highlighting. You know have the direct link to the photo. You will insert it into the pic URL box back here in the forum, and you are done. Hope that helps.

I am retracting my use of google photos. It only works with chrome. So if the user is using any other browser it won't show. SO Imgur it is....sorry for the confusion.

Thanks so much for the help! My OS or something appears to be a little different than yours (I don't see a 'properties' option when I right click but I do see a 'copy link image' option - so it's actually one step easier) but assuming this image shows up then it appears to work.

I think what you solved most of all for me is that I needed to be viewing my photos on the actual "Google Photos" site and not simply through the larger all purpose "Google Drive" site. For the life of me I don't think you can get it to work with the latter.

Thanks again. It always seemed so pointless to be copying my google images to some other image hosting site to post them here.

I exclusively use Chrome so that's not a problem for me . Good to know for anyone reading this though.

Google Photos is really the bomb for me when I am near my Chrome book or desktop. The editing software is great also. I always fear Google will take the copy address function away someday.

Admittedly, when I am out with just my phone I have to use Imgur. To add to the clunkiness of this (and lack of easy editing), every time I open Imgur on my phone it says "Unfortunately Imgur has stopped", but it never has, I just proceed. Silly Imgur.

Does anyone know which app is easier to use? I'm considering Imagur and Flickr atm.

One thing about Photobucket, their app was really easy.

I use Flickr and agree on the phone part. I don't bother with trying to post from my phone any more because the file name is too long so maybe like one in twenty attempts would let you copy the entire name for posting.

Is it just me, or have others had issues with Imgur being stupidly slow lately?

Anybody try using the Google Photos Android app?

There is a "Create Link" function, but the generated link doesn't seem to work with the Image function here on the forums

Ive discovered a trick with imgur- when you dont post public hit back, home and hit upper right hand corner delete. Photo then shows up on your library. Just touch the middle and bottom will pop up to copy direct link. Youre good to go.

Hey all former photofukit users. Not sure if anyone has noticed but EVERY
Photo youve ever posted here is gone....going all the way back to whenever you started using it. Im just wondering if there are any legal ramifications on this.

I guess I found the right post for this, just came back on to post some beer pics and noticed the warning. Now I read that all my history is gone with my pics, how awesome of Phototrash to let us know, I never got a word from them about the change, amazing.

I am in same boat you are in, not sure what is best. Sure wish the community could help all us out with the best hosting site to use, or even better if BA would remedy this and allow us to keep the pics local or use something from them, cheers and good luck with the switch.
