Another early weekend day (3am wakeup).

Victory Sour Monkey. Very refreshing and with a great sweetness/tartness ratio but I do not detect any Brett at all.

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! I already took care of my usual empties a day earlier than normal, so I don't have to really go anywhere today. Made a massive pre-birthday haul of new beers yesterday afternoon. Today is that day. Will probably end up doing some OT work this afternoon.

Fantastic Gose as always. Flavors of big tart/sour cherry, lemon, lime, green apple, wheat, cracker, coriander, sea salt, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness and lightly spicy finish. Balanced cherry/lacto acidity, salinity, and light grainy wheat creaminess in the mouthfeel. Highly drinkable and refreshing, slightly puckering. One of my all time favorites in the style. I definitely drank over a case last year. Does not feel quite as lactically sour this year, but still fantastic and easier drinking. Already grabbed 3 packs, glad they are 6'ers this year.

Amazing DIPA. Flavors of peach, apricot, pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, papaya, passion fruit, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, and peppery hops; moderate cracker, biscuit, light honey malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied and moderately crisp; balanced sticky/resinous hops and grainy malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness after the finish; no hop astringency. Insanely drinkable for 9%, lightly warming finish. Amazingly vibrant and dank hops; great malt backbone without being sweet or heavy feeling. Wish we got Troegs up here. I loved this last year, so I made sure to grab a 4 pack in Ohio last weekend. A tad pricy, but basicaly the same as all of the NEIPA 4 packs around here.

Last 2012 BB4D I have. Mind blowing! Still one of the top 5 beers I’ve ever had. Huge flavors of caramel, toffee, toasted marshmallow, coconut, maple syrup, molasses, raisin, plum, fig, date, brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, oak, and dark bread; with light notes of cocoa, leather, and tobacco. Minimal bitterness with some balancing bourbon/oak spiciness aginst sweetness. Very full bodied creamy, silky, velvety, slick mouthfeel. Mildly warming ABV for 13.5%, zero barrel booziness. Minimal carbonation, insanely rich and smooth sipper. With Kuhnhenn expanding their production operations, regular 4D should become much more readily available, which will be amazing. I haven't been to the brewery in a couple years.

I've had this multiple times, last being 3 years ago(revisited review). I made a decision that I would open my last one on my 30th birthday, so here it is. Bottled 7/12/2010. Incredible American barleywine! Flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted brown bread, chocolate, cocoa, raisin, plum, and fig; with underlying notes of grapefruit, citrus peel, pepper, pine, coffee, leather, tobacco, nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy hops. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy hop; and light roast bitterness on the finish. Fairly full bodied bready/creamy mouthfeel; some hops stickiness and light roast malt chalkiness. Increasing bitter/roasted dryness. Never astringent. Very smooth, no warming 10.2%. Getting a touch of oxidation, but it's really hard to notice. The Sierra Nevada corks are the best. Still just as carbonated as ever, even after 7 years. Like a darker/roastier version of Bigfoot basically, but never roasty enough to feel like a stout.

I need a new Ocean LP ASAP, hope they are working on something. One of my favorite bands.

    Still enjoying this one . . .

Attractive reddish brown color with small white cap.

Scent of tart cherries on a base of roasted malt. A noticeable tartness seems to rise up and cover all else.

Taste is a beautifully complex melange of tart, sour cherry, green apple and roasted malt on an oak base. This is another one that introduces with a burst of flavors that remain consistent through the finish then exiting gracefully in the aftertaste.

A Flanders Red blended from young and old (18 months) ales that have been aged in oak barrels. This process produces a complex brew that is surprisingly fresh tasting.
