Yes, I think as long as we keep it civil, it can provide good feedback.

Please bring it back. It's purpose is to make beer trading easy and not any more difficult than is necessary. This would greatly increase BA's usefulness by the users.

If there's the capacity to heavily mod FT threads for unhelpful/shitting on type of responses, then yes. Otherwise I reckon leave it.

Absolutely yes. I have posted several trades that get plenty of views, but no responses for weeks. I'd really like that feedback from others as to whys, if values are off, suggestions, etc.

It has the potential to be super helpful; it's the internet, we will always have to deal with some abuse. Totally worth it.

Yes! Removing it only enabled people to post ridiculous FTs and drive up value over market.

YES. If you need clarification on a requested trade, it's fairly impractical to have to initiate a personal conversation with the poster and have whatever response not be directed to the community at large who could benefit from it.

Trolling and bad posting is quickly dealt with on the rest of the site. I don't see what makes the trading arena unique such that the same standards would apply.

If somebody can't help themselves and give snarky commentary, then deal with them similar to the way one would for any other part of the site.

Yes, bring it back, for reasons already stated.

Another thing, and I'm not going to claim there's any kind of causal connection here, but the elimination of replies coincided (at least I think) with the rather sudden "whale-ization" of the trade forums. I've started another thread on this subject elsewhere, so I won't go into detail. And, again, I can't prove a connection. But there's definitely an elite, almost opaque quality to the trade forums now . . . if I were a newbie, I wouldn't know what the fuck I was doing.

Along those lines, would love a shelfie4shelfie thread, or at least $4$ . . . trading for fun, not just whale hunting.

I vote yes to comments. Granted there are plenty of snarky mean spirited replies, there are also lots of useful comments regarding availability, price, bottle counts, etc that help users make up their own minds about the perceived value.

I vote bring it back but with the condition that people caught abusing it are dealt with appropriately. I think it has a lot of value and hate to see that lost because of some bad apples.

I've seen the board become littered with absolutely hilarious attempts at landing a beer. I think opening up comments will allow this sort of behavior to stop. Of course there are going to be some snarky comments but I think some people have gotten too complacent in their wild offers. These trades won't ever close so they don't need to be taking up space on the forum. That's just my 2 cents.

Maybe making it easier to tell how long a user has been trading beer on BA would be helpful. There's no reason someone who has been here for 6 months or more should be making asinine requests. I can totally understand someone new not being familiar with certain ratios though.

Im sure most of us are part of a social media group trade page. Some of these turn into absolute shit shows filled with drama and nonsense. Its just regional people battling about the values of their beers. I hear ya on the helping with valuations, but imo, outlandish trades get no responses, isnt that enough? Anyone could reach out as is, in a private message, instead of 100 people attacking someone. Ive personally enjoyed the simplicity of beeradvocate. If i need some Kardashian beer trading in my life, facebook is just a click away. Keep it classy ba.

I'd say yes but with the caveat, no moderation is necessary.

Let trolls be trolls. And even the best of intention advice can be viewed as trolling thus getting people into unnecessary trouble with the bros/mods.

If moderators are necessary, then I say keep the forums comment free.

I think this would help make trading a little more transparent.

At the same time, I'm going to have a lot more forum reading to do.....
