Nope. Too many threadshitter a holes. If something is off someone will message the person and let them know.

Your mods will be spending the majority of their time on the trade forum again.

It would be perfect if you could somehow model the Facebook group Bourbon Secondary Market. They allow comments, but only ones making offers, or covering values constructively. No initial offers are allowed in private messages either. This keeps everything above board. Anything outside of these parameters gets nuked, warned or banned if it is an ongoing issue. Also, let us trade mead!

Edit:. With these rules in place, it is a rare sight to see any squabbling in that group. Because offers are made in public, there are exact reference points as to what stuff is going for. If someone is off, it is usually obvious as there are discrete reference points. BSM is by far the most professional "trade" group that I belong to.

Shelfie4Shelfie trades would be awesome. I think we often forget just how good the beer we have available to us truly is. (#JaiAlai? )

Yes, bring it back. Communication is best when it's a two-way street.

Perhaps if there are instances of abuse, steps can be taken to deny or ban the abuser from using that function. Is this something moderators or site admins can do without undue burden?

This might've been said already, but why not knock the trade count required to comment/reply from 50 down to say 20-25, which might prompt more people to weigh-in without completely opening the floodgates. If the overall reaction is positive in 6 months, then open 'em.

Would love to see it back. The good outweighs the bad. Constructive criticism is always helpful. Plus I'd like to see what closes

I think trading was a lot easier once it was disabled. I remember not liking it at first simply because I liked to see what people said, but it also kept trolls away and people telling others to hold out to get "max profitzz". I don't really care either way, but my preference is to keep it disabled.

I say yes. It helps keep people on the level about fairness of trades. It's easier to let people know if they are way off, or if it's a great offer. Plus, it's more entertaining.

Personally, I think trades should be a private matter between beer traders. Most traders that I have dealt with are very helpful and kind. That being said, there are so many trolls online, who have nothing better to do then insult and annoy. I can only I imagine if I post a ISO: whale, I will get reply all day long from trolls saying that will never happen and so forth. My suggestion, would be give the traders the option to enable replys to their post.

    My 2 pennies,

I think bringing back the reply helps trading in general.

New traders can get a feel for the process and what is what before diving in.

Feedback is key for clarification and self regulation. The people trading should be able to communicate in a clear public forum if they chose to.

Also, if someone is not interested in reading comments they can choose to not read them. The old Howard Stern argument.
